"Another One Bites The Dust"
Pros: Overall, you get what you pay for. The specs and the price of this system are hand and hand.
Cons: This system does not deliver the maximum in htpc performance and integrity.
Summary: Hello, my name is Justin. I am 26 years old and i live in a small town in the Mid-west of Missouri. Above all else, since the age of 5 I have been an electronics geek, always having to have the latest and greatest consumer electronics. I have since then went a long way and have even obtained many electronics that cannot be purchased at the consumer level just yet.
Yeah I guess you can somewhat consider me a electronic-age brat. Anyways the focus here is "Home Theater PCs". I have read the review that was done on this system and I would have to agree with Rich Brown on this one. I have personally purchased one of these products, with one slight difference, mine was a 900 hour.
On the surface this is a really nice system, definitely worth it at face value. Very slim for a home theater or media center pc, clean layout and wiring on the inside, slick color, and very quite (at least mine was). Specs overall are not too bad for what you pay for, but after purchasing this system I can definitely say that I wish I would have looked at other options before making a final decision. In my experience the better the branded hardware component, usually the better the component itself. It seems that more and more this is no longer the case. Younger computer manufactures are definitely proving worthy.
The Hangar18 is definitely right for the price, but they have left me with much less than I had anticipated from Alienware. In my opinion they have just simply went downhill since Dell bought them out. Dell is well known around the world and they have made it very far in the game of both consumer and business level electronics, but the fact still remains that aside from their Ultra Sharp LCD Monitors, dell is anything but sharp at all. Cheap hardware at a reasonable price and since they began their ownership of Alienware it looks as if they are taking them down with them. Ofcoarse consumers will continue to buy their products and continue to be disappointed as well. I have owned 3 dell computers and 2 Alienware computers. One Alienware from before Dell?s ownership and one after. Let me tell you there is a difference.
At any rate. I believe that if you are looking to purchase any Gaming PCs or systems like the one in question, Home Theater PCs, I would definitely do your homework. I have personally purchased and tested a few systems myself and the companies I would advise looking into would be of the following: HipePC (www.hipepc.com), VelocityMicro (www.velocitymicro.com), and another rapidly-growing company, ACS Advanced Computer Systems (www.customgamerpc.com). All three of these companies seem to be pumping out the better systems these days. I have purchased a system from each of the above-mentioned manufacturers and I have to say that they all have high quality products and when you?re talking customer service, ya might want to look into the customgamerpc.com website. I just figured that I would let all you other consumers know that it is worth looking past the world-known reputation sometimes and look into these younger computer companies, because as Alienware once was, they will too become the big dogs in future consumer computer electronics and believe that they will raise the bar for the standards that we expect to be met.

I thought i was the only ACS fan here, i bought a gaming system from them about 6months ago based on price.... I didnt expect the kind of personal service that i recieved from them... I hope they dont get to big and change the quality of service like most companies do. Looking 4ward to purchasing their HTPC once i get my stimulus check!!!
