"What are you talking about..."
onSummary As far as CQCQCQ's comments.... Fax? Modem? This is the 21st century why are you talking about 90's technology. And why would you need FW800 on a basic consumer model, 95% of the devices out there can't even use 1/3 the bandwidth that FW400 provide. USB 2.0? Why do you need that with FW, check TechTV's comparison of FW vs USB 2.0, FW was consistently 35-70 percent faster than USB 2.0. Shipping issues? Whatever. Kids hitting the screen with a ball? Well the same thing could happen to your $4,000 plasm television also now couldn't it. And no the CD tray doesn't hit the keyboard. Force empty the trash! Yea it can happen but there are Freeware programs theat handle very nicely also. Is any OS perfect? NO! But compared to Windooze this is sure the lesser of two evils. The way the iMac and all the iApps work is a joy after living in the Windows world. What Apple delivers in this package is thoughtfully designed, well implemented computer and OS for the basic home/student/small office user. With iDVD, iTunes, iMovie, iPhoto and other apps running on top of a rock solid and beautiful OS this computer is all the average consumer could ever need. Sure with some PC you seem to get more hardware for your money, but then if all you worry about are hardware specs then you really don't understand what Macs are about. This little baby does what i say, when i say and how i say 99 percent of the time with a interface and a learning curve that a mentally challenged chimp could handle. All this with no viruses, virtually no spam (maybe 2 a week) and best of all ... NO MICROSOFT. OS X is sweet. iTunes music store ROCKS. I use PC's, Windows, various flavors of 'Nix at work for years and only thing that have ever made into my home and personal life are Macs. So my advise to you is quit being such a worry wart and take a bite of the Apple.... even after years with them they still thrill me to use them, which is more than i can say for the Windows blue screen of death, virus ridden, spam filled life i see people with PC's living. This computer IS everything the average Joe could need and more.

"No frustrations"
onSummary I have been a Mac user now for 4 years, and have had a G4 Cube for 2 and a half. The best thing about using Macs, apart from how good they look and how well they are made, is the complete lack of frustration you get when using them compared to a Windows machine. Sure prices are a bit steeper, but if it wasn't for the ability to burn DVD's I'd probably still be using my Cube two and half years from now

"my experience with I mac"
onSummary I will not waste your time with the positive side. I have a 700 mhz Imac ,added 256 mega ram but still is not fast enough as the win laptop I also have,a 1.8 giga hz. This is my big dissapoinment but I still own the Imac!smile Even with the safari browser,to be in tone with jaguar!smile,it take longer to get a webpage than win machine;I have cable modem. If you can waite for next generation of processors ,it will be a smart way to buy it.

"all around great computer!"
onSummary i was shocked when the imac first came out because it was so different from any other computer. that's why i love it. it has a really beautiful and crisp LCD, a fast processor, a great graphics chip, and a DVD-RW drive! it's fast and it does things so much easier than any PC, like importing photos and even getting on the internet. the only two things i would change would be to include a little more ram and a better support package, like maybe 6 months of telephone, at least the online support is very good. still, for only $1799, this computer packs a punch and can perform as well as any powermac g4. if you're still running a pc, at least go look at a mac. i'm positive you'll love this one!

"Pricey, but worth it to me."
onSummary At first glance, I didn't even want to touch a mac, being a native PC user. Slowly but surely, I found myself wanting a mac more and more, especially so when I learned that OS X was unix-based. It was then that I made the switch. OS X Hasn't failed on me once, nor has the software that comes with the mac. The apple pro speakers that came with my iMac 17" are good for stock speakers, I'll admit, but I still think that if you spend a lot of time listening to music on your computer, that you go spend $80 on a decent 3-piece set. The display has no competition. It is hands down the brightest, crispest, most beautiful display I've ever laid eyes on. the graphics are so crisp and clear you'd swear it was real. I was blown away as I compared the graphics of an iMac and my PC notebook's screens side by side. No competition. iMac wins. One thing I did have a question about was the display itself. Yes I can move it up and down and side to side, but it seems a bit fragile if I twist it. I know you're not supposed to twist it (say, clockwise or counterclockwise), but I notice it when I go to move the screen and my hand is placed slightly more to the left or right than normal (center). I'm sure it can be tightened, though, so not to worry. I'm glad I made the switch, and this computer looks and feels good... it's especially nice to know that it hasn't failed me (restarted randomly, for instance!) during my mission critical times. God Bless Apple.
