Pros What I like most is that there are ZERO pop ups telling me that "solutions have been found for your computer!" or "your virus software is out of date!" (every two days!) I like the software- it works the way it is supposed to 99 percent of the time!
Cons I wish the speakers had a little more juice, though they are not bad at all for built in speakers. I wish I could eliminate the need for me to always have to put in my password before installing software. Other than that.....love the machine.
Summary I have to work with Windows computers at school- mostly DELL. I also have an ACER laptop. Whenever I use those machines far more often than not it ends up taking me twice as long to do something, if I get it done at all, than it takes to do it one the Mac. Wireless networking is easier on the Mac....watching DVDs is easier for heaven's sake.....Microsoft Word is a SUPERIOR product on the Mac than it is in the Windows environment.....printing is far easier on a Mac....working with picutes is FAR easier with iPhoto.....making DVDs on the Mac makes everyone at school wish they had a Mac (How do you DO that???? I am always asked). Having a Mac is just the complete package. If you also have MobileMe, then you have online storage.....web page creation.....all a snap. Yes....some people will say MobileMe is problem ridden....and it is now.....but I have no doubt that the problems will be cleared up sooner than later. Hey...this is Apple we're talking about here. Apple is a company with standards....a company with pride in its work.....and the ONLY company I would ever purchase a personal computer from.
Pros Compact, All-in-one design
Cons Have to use conversion software for window applications, pricey
Summary I purchased this computer refurbished on-line at apple.com. I have been very pleased with speed, and the ease and stability of the apple software. I have had no virus's, pop-up's, spam and far less error messages with the apple software versus windows. Apple costumer support has been wonderful. However, you do have issues with compatibility with window applications that are resolvable will a little effort in most cases. Like I had to purchase a conversion program to sync with my IPAQ HP pocket pc. Also, you can partition you drive and download windows xp via bootcamp. All in all I am very pleased with the computer.
Pros Sleek look, OS X operating system,
Cons Get the RAM upgrade to 4GB; preferably on sale. May be not the best bang for the buck in some aspects, but.....
Summary Made the switch from PC, and I'm glad I did. Easy to use, fun to learn. Only thing about Macs in general is that there is no really good personal finance software for it, and that is a major reason for home computing in my house. Not Apple's problem, really. And it can run Windows if you want it to on a separate partition. Very happy with my decision.
