"I'm glad I'm a switcher!!!"
Pros: gorgeous screen, brilliant colors, blazing fast, incredible OS
Cons: none that I've discovered
Summary: I'm a recent switcher from a Sony Vaio PC. I don't miss it....at all. I've not had a mac for a long time now and these computers have certainly come a long way since I last had one. The minimalist design on this computer is beyond cool - it's functional. There's just one major cord coming out of the back of my computer and that's the power cord. My keyboard and mouse are both wireless and I'm connected to the internet via an Apple Airport Extreme router operating from another room.
The screen size is outstanding as is the picture. I've got my computer next to a window and I don't really have any issues of glare with the screen. Yes, it is a shiny screen, but it doesn't cause me any issues above and beyond what a plasma TV would. If you can't help but focus in on reflected images in the screen, you may want to take a look at one of these in a local Apple store before purchasing. I did and immediately discerned that it would not be a problem for me. The reflective image issue is also greatly diminished when the computer is turned on. With a black screen, it looks like a black mirror. With an image on the screen, it is all but invisible to my eyes.
The last Mac OS I worked with was 9. something or another. Mac OS X Tiger is brilliant and I can only imagine what Leopard will be like. I forgot how simple everything is with Mac. No headaches here. For example, unistalling programs. On the PC, you'd have to actually go to the control panel and then click on "add/remove programs" and then go through the unistall and even then you'd have traces left behind. Not so with Apple. Just go to the Applications folder, grab the program you want to go bye-bye, drag it to the trash can, empty the trash and that's it. It's gone! Nice!!!
This computer is also the quietest computer I've ever heard...or not heard, as the case may be. I leave my computer on for hours and the only time I've ever heard an audible noise from it was when I was burning some discs. That's it. Even that was very quiet considering the considerable amount of whirring and disc chatter my Vaio would emit when performing the same functions. This is a very silent running machine.
The new keyboard design is tight and sublime. I love the feel of the keys and the tactile response is perfect. The new wireless keyboard and mouse work brilliantly. As a bonuse, Apple also included an Apple Remote with the iMac. This neat little gadget (about the size of a stick of gum) works wonderfully with the computer and allows you to operate it from across the room.
Apple has really put together a robust computer with the best OS in the market today. Everything about this computer not only oozes cool, but functionality as well. Get off the fence and come on in....the water's fine!

I've had a 24 inch intel Mac 2.18 mhz for since last spring. It's a fantastic machine. I'm tempted to upgrade now (for more memory, etc) but am waiting until Mac includes a higher end graphics card, or at least until it's a much bigger upgrade. I'm not much of a gamer, but it aggravates me that Mac simply will not give a better graphics option for the iMac. I'll never get a desktop (theirs is great, but my work is mobile, and the iMac is remarkably portable). So, c'mon Mac - give us a better graphics card for the iMac. You'll then get a flood of Mac users upgrading.
