    Pros: Great update mostly

Cons: Apple has made the hard drive connector non standard....Yep this means you can not buy an off the shelf standard SATA HD from Fry's and plug it in, and to add insult to injury they also modified the HD's firm ware. so if you need a replacement Apple is yo

Summary: So it a great machine that been boat anchored by custom hardware/software on a industry standard component.

People don't buy all-in-one computers looking to user-replace hidden internal components. This machine includes three types of high-speed external connections making it incredibly easy to add an external hard drive. I purchased it with the base 1TB hard drive, and have 6TB attached via USB which will be upgraded to Thunderbolt when new enclosures will work great. There's no way I'd ever be able to fit 4 or more hard drives inside of this anyway, so it's rather moot whether I can update the internal drive.

The other side to that is that it's not actually impossible to upgrade the internal drive. Software workarounds have already been published which allow users to retain fan control when using an aftermarket hard drive.

I'm somewhat puzzled by this sort of complaint. If you bought a TV or a car you wouldn't complain about a non-upgradable DLP chip or transmission. And you'll likely keep either of those much longer than any desktop computer.
