Apple iMac Core Duo (20-inch, 2.0GHz)

Pros: Everything works out of the box, Fast, Great included software

Cons: MS Office costs as much as ever!

Summary: I had been using a G4 733 which is still a quite passable machine even after 4 years but this computer just smokes.

20" screen is unbelievable; fantastic to work with and great value to be included at the current price point. Very nice aesthetics to have the whole computer in the monitor unlike the clutter at work!

Installation is unbelievably easy... If you have an older mac it will prompt you to connect your old computer by Firewire and it imports everything- all documents, MP3s, videos, and even applications that work without reinstalling.

Included software (iphoto, mail, safari, itunes, iweb, idvd) are fantastic programs and incredibly intuitive and fast. I also liked the free included version of Quicken 2006.

Media browser and remote control very well implemented. Built in isight camera a very nice touch as well- already using it.

The summary is that the new imacs are fast, and a great combination of design, hardware, and software that is priced right and tough to beat.
