"Six years later..."on by jmp7315
Pros With a RAM upgrade, it's still fast enough for modern, daily usage. It still looks pretty good too! It may not be as exciting as it was six years ago, but it doesn't seem too out dated.
Cons None really... They were amazing when they came out, and still great now.
Summary I thought it would be interesting to revisit this now in 2009. I bought this model for $100. It was crashing a lot, and the original owner didn't know why. It turns out it was just bad RAM. So it was a cheap fix. It needed an upgrade anyway. It runs Leopard very well with 1gb+ RAM. It still looks good on my desk, I haven't tried playing any games on it yet. The only PC game I play is World of Warcraft, so I'm sure this will run it fine on low-medium settings.
Basically, over half a decade later... Mac's are still awesome. I heard Snow Leopard won't support PPC's anymore, but sooner or later, old intel Mac's will be available used for under $200 and they'll still provide years of computing for anyone on a tight budget.
Pros Style, Mac 0S, Loads of software.
Cons had to buy a new desk to match it's beauty ;). 1.25gig is a little slow
Summary great all around best looking PC ever. Runs great. I've had it for almost 2years now and still love it. Still a 10 out of 10.
"I love my iMac!"on by pclagett
Pros Fast; great display; it's not a PC; stable OS.
Cons Have to add an external hard drive if I want to expand.
Summary I've had my iMac for well over a year and I still love it. Best thing I've ever done, computer-wise, was switching to a Mac. I was tired of dealing with spyware, viruses, etc. on a daily basis with my PC, even WITH the latest "anti-everything" software. Now I can surf the net comfortably and without worry.
Pros Beautiful screen, Great speakers, beautiful display, Great ilife products like itunes, and Idvd. Lots of new software, 3 usb and 2 firewire ports. Great new Panter 10.3 operating system. (Opt great G wireless networking card) Fast Easy to use New Internet
Cons Doesnt play some games that windows plays.
Pros great flat wide screen luv how compact it is, i can move to different room easy or bring it to a friends house, (powercord and thats it) wow.
Cons Hard drive seems slow. Unstable for intensive apps like finalcut studio pro. Maybe becuase of set up for multiple users at work is the reason for crashes.
