"This machine is AWESOME!"
Pros: Built-in AirPort, Bluetooth, and 8x SuperDrive, extremely fast processor speed, excellent graphics card
Cons: None so far
Summary: Apple has really outdone itself this time. Thiis new iMac G5 is unbelieveable. The only reason I gave it a 9\10 is because I never give anything a 10\10. I just recently switched from the Dell Dimension 8300 with Windows XP Pro SP2 to the Apple 17" iMac G5 with Mac OS X Tiger and I have to say, there's really no comparison. The iMac is superior to the Dell in every fashion. But the biggest thing that I've noticed is the power to multi-task on the Mac. On my old Dell, if I ran more than 2 or 3 applications at once the computer would freeze up, but on the Mac, I can run bbetween 8 and 10 apps at once and not notice a reduction in speed. Additionally, Safari is a much better browser than IE and the iLife suite of applications is amazing. The iMac may be more expensive than most PC's but it is well worth the extra money.

It's my opinion that for the value of the iMac and the superiority to the PCs, it is not more expensive than most! What you get is a superior system with top tier components/performance. I'm the satisfied owner of a 17" G5 2.0 Ghz after being on a PC and my expectations were more than blown out of the water! Amazing machine.

I just priced a dell system with similiar specs and it came out to 1377. This iMac goes for 1499. So the price is not much different. Apples just doesn't make a 299 elcheapo machine, but who wants one of those anyway?
I bought a powerbook g4 12" 4 months ago and my world changed for the better. I bought this iMac two weeks ago to replace my HP desktop system. My wife loves them both so much she want to get an iBook now just for herself.
Bottom line, Macs are easier to use, easier to maintain, easier on the eyes, and for what you are getting they are no harder on your wallet.My advice, do yourself a favor, get an Apple computer.
