"Nice imac, but apple skimps on Blu-Ray tech" on by mdntcallr

    Pros: NICE CPU
    Nice GPU
    great formfactor

    Cons: No Blu-Ray
    no HDMI
    no upgradability

Summary: As someone who needs to purchase multiple macs, the new imac and other models really disappoint. Make me think about switching back to windows. Apple is treating Blu-Ray as the enemy instead of a vibrant optical media format to be used for storage and content.

Apple is choosing to stonewall Blu-Ray tech to protect its itunes movies store. which is very sad. Consumers need to speak up on this issue.

"Nice looking, overpriced, just another Apple gimmick" on by FactsoverEmotion

Pros: Looks good, fast, nice resolution

Cons: Price is almost ridicoulous, Apple users tend to be emotionaly tied to their products instead of using common sense.

Summary: Price is ridiculous; Apple users tend to be emotionally tied to their products instead of using logic or common sense. I have been an IT Director for over 20 years and can?t believe all the hype over a product that has a nice package but is just average underneath. There are dozens of computers that will outperform any Apple at a lower cost.

"The i3 processor and heating disappoint" on by j_bene

Pros: The User interface and clean appearance are nice

Cons: Poor processor choice for a productivity tool, This machine should run much cooler particularly if longevity in service is desired. Even though it is an all-in-one, more component modularity (ALA MSI all-in-ones) would really help. Touch screen?

Summary: What was Apple thinking? This looks like a winter 2010 machine instead of a summer 2010 release.

"Nice design but besides size it comes up short" on by nickrev

Pros: it is small and sleek

Cons: number of cores, game support, PRICE!

Summary: okay, apple has always overpriced everything and i don,t need to tell anyone that because by now it is very obvious. second of all they now have a 6 core processor.(not on mac) and for over $1000 dollars the best they do is a duo? come on apple get with the times with more than your prices! the best games for mac without lag are 8-bit (slight exaggeration but not much.) and third macs have viruses also but you just dont hear much about them. forth is there "quality" if you really think about it pc's get crap for being slow... but if you spend $1000 dollars on a pc it will be 2 to 3 times better than a mac. i have now built 2 pc's and i am very happy with then for around $500 dollars it out tasks a mac by 2 times! so apple get in the game or call it off early

bottom line: dont buy their junk!

"Piece of crap iMac - thank god it was a gift." on by bginoc

Pros: The 27-inch screen is nice. Magic Mouse is amusing at best.

Cons: Limited upgrade ability, Extremely slow Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5 performance compared to Windows 7 machine. ATI Graphics card is weak - NVidia should have been used. Keyboard completely sucks and feels like a cheap MacBook.

Summary: Apple's latest iMac incarnation continues with minimal styling changes and is the modern-age equivalent of Packard Bell in that the unit contains substandard junk components from last year instead of top of the line Intel processors as can be found in PC boxes running Windows 7. This article is typical of CNET's biased reviews - gotta keep those advertisers happy by giving them a positive review. As I said before, thank god this piece of crap was a gift, too bad someone I know is ignorant enough to buy an iCrap.
