Summary: I just picked up the Mini a couple of days ago at the Mac store for $550 (yay student discount), and I have to say that I am experiencing mixed feeling. This is my first foray into the world of Mac, and I didn't want to go crazy on spending if I didn't end up having my socks knocked off.I experienced "mixed feelings," not feeling. Hooray for basic grammar.
Setup was a breeze, and the unit is small enough to fit in the small CD cubby right on top of my existing PC. Connecting to the network was a snap, even if detecting a shared printer was kind of an ordeal. Once I figured out how to use the network connection features, sharing a drive and importing my pictures and iTunes library was pretty easy.
Software installs all went great, and the only issues I ran into were some slowdowns and the mic port issue. See, I run a Podcast and it took me a few minutes to figure out that the line in jack does not support standard microphones. This plus the other issue with the DVI issue and the lack of mouse and kb does kind of irk me, but over all , I have to say that it is a pretty good intro computer for Mac neophytes.
