Apple Mac Mini Core Solo

Pros: Quiet, small, affordable, wireless

Cons: slow performance for some apps. Needs more RAM.

Summary: I just bought a Mac Mini to replace my dying G4/400. I use it for graphics work, in Adobe CS2 and Macromedia Studio. I am using my old G4 keyboard and mouse too, since this machine does not come with these things.

This machine is much faster with native apps (like Finder, and Apple utilities/games). But CS2 apps are probably as slow as they were on my old G4. I assume its because of the Rosetta thing, and the next release of CS should be much faster? But it won;t come out for quite a while.

When running 3 or more applications, it really starts bogging down in speed. I think the 512k RAM that it comes with is not enough. I plan on upgrading the RAM to the full 2GB as soon as I can save the $300.
