"Mac Mini 1.83GHz is good for basic tasks, but is not good for multitasking"
2.5 starson by castrojhonPros: Small, 2 GB RAM upgrade, very quiet, beautiful design and sufficient power for home everyday use
Cons: Graphics are not good for gaming. awful RAM location.
Summary: This computer might be a very good idea if you only need a computer for web browsing, to type documents and/or discrete media computer. Don't expect this computer to be a suitable machine for media design, gaming or development, as is has many upgrade restrictions, instead consider the IMAC with runs on Intel Core 2 Duo.... A LOT FASTER !!!. I had 2 mac minis including the dual 1.83 and both worked great for me.

I'll admit, I'm not much of a gamer, so I can't comment on its graphics ability.. I play Madden 2005 on an old Windows desktop, and look forward to Madden 2008 for the Mac.

When I first got my Mac Mini, it had only 512 MB of RAM, and it was very slow when multiple programs were open.

Compusa had a 1 GB memory card on sale ($40), so I got that, installed it (I had never before taken apart such a small computer, but I did it successfully), and now my Mac runs at blazing speed with 1.25 GB of RAM.
