Pros: the machine looks great in writing. if it actually worked, id probably love it.

Cons: i just receive a brand new $7000+ mac pro that doesnt even work! they say its a problem with the graphics card - and thats exactly what happened last time i bought a mac pro - it had graphics card problems from day 1 that apple couldnt fix.

Summary: my 1st mac pro purchase was in 2006 - it had problems from day 1 and apple couldnt fix them. (the mac would crash during sleep, itd crash if a screen saver came on..) i made so many trips to the apple store lugging this huge machine around and they never could fix anything. Sure they gave me a couple free software upgrades but that doesnt matter when the core problem isnt being solved.
Now i just ordered a $7k machine hoping for a better experience this time - it arrives and the thing wont even turn on! Are you kidding me? I called them and went through all these steps to reset the system turning it on and off like 4 times.. Now they want me to bring it to an apple store to get my brand new machine fixed? OR i can pay to ship it back to them and get a refund (minus shipping charges both ways) what a nightmare! Carrying a huge machine like this to and from the apple store is a major P.I.T.A. to say the least! im so over apple. they over charge you for every component of these machines! the least they can do is make them work!!
--- on some forums u will find people that say its smart to buy after market ram and ssds from reputable companies like ramjet, owc, and crucial. That sounds like a great idea to save money on a mac, but these mac pros are so problematic that u take a giant risk installing after market components. If you have any problems with your mac, apple will blame it on the after market parts and thats why i decided to stick with all apple components. But that didnt help!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr im so frustrated.. im returning this thing and ive only received it a few hours ago.... Thanks for all the hassle apple..
