"Waste of money"
Pros: Warranty, tech support
Cons: slow, slow, slow
Summary: I purchased this pc to replace an older Dell that I had. I have purchased Dell computers for the past 6 or so years. I was very disappointed with this version. Dell gets bigger and their products start getting worse. If I shut down or hibernate, it takes at least 5 minutes (min) or more for it to power up. After that it has to go through all the junk that Dell loads your computer with. If you are an intermediate pc user, trying to unload all of the software that you dont use can be challenging. This pc is so slow that I leave it on and just turn off the monitor. The CD burner had to be replaced within 6 months. It took hours with the online support and eventually they had to send someone out to replace it. Of course this required for me to leave work and be at home for them to do. Also, anytime I try to download a new version of anything (Adobe Reader, Google Earth) I get an error about the f/ drive. This was one month after the purchase. Its barely a year old. I dont even really use the computer for anything but surfing the internet and storing pictures. I have about 80% hard drive storage but the computer still runs sluggish. It takes forever to even upload pictures online or open the web browser. Download music? forget it!!! Im sure this has to do with the Celeron D processor that the salesperson suggested for just basic surfing and emailing. For the price I paid ($600-700) I am not getting my moneys worth and now Im having problems with the Dell laptop I purchased as well (high priced replacement battery $179.00, laptop barely one yr old). So, I will no longer be a customer of Dell, Im replacing both with an Apple.
