  • "Unreliable all around, but especially with graphics"
    on by dahayward

Pros Small form factor makes it unobtrusive, quiet, cheap

Cons Due to various problems have had two of these machines replaced. Of the three I have owned, two never correctly outputed to the HDMI, the main purpose of having it...

Summary I understand what Dell is trying to do with this unit, create a inexpensive, no thrills machine that you can use in the living room. Unfortunately their drive to reduce price seems to have had a disproportionate impact on quality. Hey, if you like to gamble, buy the Zino, maybe your will work, otherwise shell out a few extra bucks for the Mac Mini

  • "Nice home theater PC"
    on by storrey

Pros HDMI, Blu Ray, compact and quiet

Cons Processor could be a little faster

Summary All in all I am happy with the purchase. I bought the trackball mini keyboard and it works well enough to control the entire system.

  • "Always remember Dell's Service!"
    on by anusinov

    Pros Nice and shiny box

    Cons 1.Absolutely awful HDMI picture quality;
2.Poor wireless card, dropping signal 5 feet away from 802.11N router.

Summary I received this computer in February, 2011. It worked, but:
1.I never saw in my life so poor picture on any video output as HDMI on this one (VGA was much better, then HDMI).
2.Streaming media with Wireless connection in 5 feet from 802.11N router drops signal every minute on any site: Youtube, Netflix, Hulu, etc...
Called Dell tech support almost a month ago, wasted over two hours on a phone. Lets try this, that,... no results. Then based in India tech support agreed to sent tech with spare parts. He arrived in two days and converted my poorly working Zino to non-working for almost a month. Twenty more phone calls to India, 19 more hours wasted, now they promissed to send me replacement in two weeks. I would like to see it in my house.
I will never buy any Dell product again, nor recommend to any customer. I am a network admin for many years and lots of clients,

  • "It does everything that PS3, AppleTV, and Roku does."
    on by nutjob

Pros Very nice 1080p, blu-ray, and computer machine. Now cheaper and faster than Apple Mini.

Cons Computer is a little slow for day to day use.

Summary This is a wonderful machine. I wonder if the other reviewers actually have the computer?

I had a Sony Viao and AppleTV. Gave them both to relatives and got this dell mini, thought I would try it for 30 days. It is much better than expected. It hooks us with HDMI even allows me to choose between wifi and wired ( I use cat5e wired).

I got to this use with my home theatre system, which includes a Tivo Series 3, Xbox, and Wi. The Dell gets me better hulu

  • "A Playstation 3 is cheaper and you can get netflix"
    on by peterhting

Pros it's a PC you hook up to your TV

Cons too expensive to do what the PS3 already does very well.

Summary A Playstation 3 is cheaper and you can get netflix, huluplus and the playstation store. You can also stream from your main PC via playon.tv or playstation media server

Another alternative box is the TIVO premier that you pay 99 for and higher sub, like cable, to stream media.
