    "Next time I'm going with CDW"

    Pros: 30 minute wait for customer service (oh wait...)

    Cons: This is my second machine!

    Summary: Optiplex GX280 #2 just broke. This was the REPLACEMENT machine...after they came in to replace (for the 4th time) a fan and fried the processor & the motherboard. Whoops...

    The replacement lasted 6 days. Then the screen went black, according to the techies I know these machines get too hot and fry themselves. If only I'd known before hand.

    I've lost over 4 days of work dealing with Dell and the GX 280. Its too late for me...but not for you.

    I have been a loyal Dell customer. (Bought 4 desktop & 2 laptop from them.)

    Don't have much problem so far, really love those days (when I was in College around 1998, when I can get a hold of a knowledgeble Tech Support on the phone and helped with any trouble.)

    I notice the changes lately, as there must have shifted there tech support to India as almost every Dell's tech support speaks with an Indian accent.

    What really really ticked me off is I have been trying to order this new Dell computer. (Actually, this is the 3rd time I try to order it in 2days.)

    The first time, the website wasn't responding

    Then, it happened twice today, after I have completed configuring my PC. (Comes to a price around $1400, a decent piece with 2 gig of rams and some goods stuffs.)

    Dell website prevents me from completing the deal by telling my what I ordered (configure is a mistake)

    If I believe I didn't enter to that site by mistake, please call them.

    When I pick up the phone to call them, I was put on hold forever.

    What the h*** is going on the Dell?

    Did you all had the same bad experiences like I do?

    My employer (Nortel) has recently informed us that from now on, we will order all hardware from HP instead of Dell.

    That makes me wonder ? Does my company knows something that I don't

    Has Dell becomed the rubish vendor (Like compaq was back in early 2000)?

    What is your experince with HP?

    Should I buy a HP instead of Dell. I really don't know, has been using Dell for so long....
