"Great workhorse PC" on by NetSecGuy
Pros: Small and Powerful
Cons: Huge external power supply
Summary: After much research, I decided to get the Dell SX280 for my home/office needs. First thing I would recommend is to customize the Dell SX280 to your liking. By excluding software add-ons I didn't want, I was able to save money and get the more powerful hardware (3GHZ CPU; 1 GB RAM) -- and I still paid less than $850! (Of course I already had my own LCD monitor.) After using this for a month I am extremely satisfied with the SX280. I haven't encountered any problems with it; but it nice to know Dell includes a 3 year warranty since this is categorized as a Small-Business product. (For Dell's consumer products, you have to pay extra for a 3 year warranty.) I was originally considering a Mac-mini, but after trying it out in a local store was very disappointed with the underperformance. By contrast, the SX 280 is almost as cute as the Mac-mini, but exponentially more powerful. The only caveats are: 1) don't get this for high-end gaming since the graphics are not expandable; 2) 10 pounds is heavier than you think so don't mistakenly think this is a "transportable" unit; 3) the external power brick if freakin' huge! Not that it matters, but the power brick is almost 1/2 the size of the computer. PS- the unit is truly whisper quiet. Good job Dell!

Pros: Fast and friendly
great hardware
small
less clutter
small enough for a laptop bag
security system to detect unauthorized people opening the tower
less noise
front USB portsCons: hard to find drivers after new installation.
Will not let windows 7 be installed due to driver conflicts.
sometimes slow
too small for expansion
no floppy drive (yea, i use floppys)
inside speaker sounds badSummary: a very good computer for almost everything besides hard core gaming. I switched to this from a 2GB amd athlon system to this and its so much faster and more reliable.

"Good compact cute model ever I saw with the time it ." on by dixitsunil22
Pros: Like the lunch box setting all easy to replace no much cable work enough USB port Audio in and out had worked from 2004 day and night heavy work only the ram upgrade to two GB then HDD upgrade all went well till May 2011 had to replace the mother Board du
Cons: Difficult to find replacement part after model is old and the extended warranty is also over got no much room to upgrade with the fast moving capacity of Ram, graphic cards or video or the HDD only to replace the model with new one :)
Summary: Well it was a very good deal with the time people liked it as so compact take hardly any space compared to all other model normally during the launch of this compact lunch box design model with almost every normal things present for almost use with any PNP devices and all I always liked it till now lets see what dell brings more hope they keep enough room for upgrade and attachments as the every time some thing news land to get connected with computers :)
