"For a system exchange on a D530 Inspiron, it's amazing."
Pros: Fast, very fast. Quad core 2.5 chip & 6 GB ram make it so. It lodes quick, opens web pages in a heartbeat. Most of my software works great to by installing to the x86 directory. I had to update a few apps to an x654 program. Like ESET x64.
Cons: Low end ATI Radeon HD 3650, rubbish. I *******, they sent me a NVIDIA 8600 series card, which is better but still,... I had a couple minor issues with the audio & didn't know that even with UAC silenced, a few things need to be done as administrator.
Summary: Quick as I can story. I had a Dell D530 Inspiron Desktop for a year Minimal issues with that system running Vista Ultimate (32 bit) & Ultimate spoiled me. Those morons at Dell sent me new font bezel because on a broken optical drive door. The bezel was missing a $5 piece of trim that Dell couldn't order w/o a part #. It ticked me off so I complained & was offered a system exchange. Expecting a 2 week wait, I was surprised on the following Wednesday with a knock at the door & a big box. This PC was in it! I hooked it up and tripped when I looked at the device manager & PC Properties. Hardware with the exception of a low end ATI video card. Quad core 2.5 chip, 750 GB HDD, 6 GB ram on an x64 Vista Ultimate system. I hooked it up & fell in love. This is a huge upgrade for me, for free. So it's back to school to take x64 PC 101. I already bought a NVIDIA 9800 GT graphics card with brought my Windows Experience Index up to 5.5 out of a high score of 5.9. I got that card on line, on sale for $99 & all my problems with this PC are solved. Multi-Media graphics & gaming are pretty darn good now. LOL! I love this machine now. It's an amazing system for $99 out of pocket.
