    "Replaced Hard drives already (maybe 10 hours on machine)"

    Pros: monitor, sound

    Cons: hard drives, performance in Google Earth

    Summary: Never been a huge Dell fan. But but Costco had a great deal, IBM is Chinese now (lenova?), and I am not sure if Gateway will outlast their service agreements.
    Anyways spent an hour on the phone to India. Hard drives are bad, they sent new ones, tech rep installed them. Now I have to spend probably two hours of my life installing the software back on. -who has time for that?

    Good Lord. I've had my XPS for three months, yet it's been one problem after another. Sticking mouse, studdering sound, non-applied programs running simultaniously, and the computer is as slow as hell to boot up. After numerous calls to Dell (India) for hours at a time, my new business (and nerves) have suffered to the highest levels of frustration, and I couldn't be sorrier I bought it. Now I must spend MORE hours figuring out which company and Model I'll go with and getting relief in someway. I give Dell a below poor rating.

    I was going to buy the XPS 600 from Costco. You can't beat the price for what they give you in the package. I'm concerned though, with your hard drive problem. Which model XPS 600 did you buy and what was the hard drive? Thanks

    Also bought the Costco special. It had everything I was looking for. After spending One and onehalf hours on the phone with a very courteous tech from India with no positive results I returned the system to Costco. I would buy the system again if the drive system problem was corrected.Everything else was very acceptable.
