  • "I love the computer so far."

Pros Ultra-fast processor, low power draw = low temps. Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 3.0. I got everything I wanted for much less than the price of the reviewed product.

    Cons None so far

Summary This review seems to take a shot at Dell about pricing without having the common sense to look at their website and see the lesser priced configurations and what they offer. Yeah $1999 is a lot and I agree that the price of the SSD is too high, but that's not a legit reason to knock off 2 stars without doing a little homework. Go to Dell.com and for $1199 you can get the same I-7 processor. Pay $100 each to upgrade to 16GB and the Radeon 7770 and you essentially have the exact same computer minus the SSD for $1399. That price and config also gets you Blu-ray burn capability in the Dell that you don't get from either of the systems listed as comparisons in this review. Don't want to pay $600 for the SRT upgrade? Then don't do it. I would expect a little more research from CNET.

Pros Has Every thing I could want and more Mine has a 2 TB Hard Drive with a Nvida 1GB Video card 16gb memory and Black case plus the standard fair all for $1187.00 For me that is plenty of BANG for my buck.

    Cons None so far

Summary I have been a Dell fan for over 12 years for service and there products both desktops and laptops and so far if I have had a problem they take care of it and that is why I stay with them so if I pay $50.00 more it is worth it to me.

  • "Fast, silent, perfect."

Pros SO QUIET! My old Dell was wheezing and was terrible! I was going crazy. This one is super quiet and FAST. I got the $1299 version with 32gb SRT SSD enhancement. It makes all the difference in speed. I'm so glad I upgraded.

Cons Not much that I can think of. Maybe the white case - only for special edition ones with the SSD.

    Summary GET IT!

CNET really messed up on this review. They got the crazy expensive version which i'm sure 95% of people don't even need, which is why it's practically impossible to find that configuration offered anywhere on the Dell website. Luckily they brought back all the individual customizations, so you can build your system to order. I think it does ship faster, though, if you get one of their pre-made systems like I did.

I went with the 7770 graphics card as I dont do much gaming and I wanted the system to be as quiet as possible, since my last Dell Studio XPS 435MT was a RACKET! What a nightmare. This is like heaven!

Everything was so easy to transfer using Windows Easy Transfer over my ethernet network. I had 180gb and it took about 2 hours to get everything moved over. Flawless!

  • "Do Not buy this computer"
    on by ssnnsnsnsnnlll

Pros Do not know, I am sending my newly delivered SPX 8500 white desktop back for a third replacement...

Cons The Dell technician I talked to had me take the 2nd computer they sent me apart, take all the memory cards out, take the video card out, check all the connections... thought they should supply a tech person to do this, NOT good customer service

Summary I have had good success with Dell products and tech service in Australia the past, however in light of this lemon I have purchased since moving to the US, I am never buying from Dell again. They need to shape up. If this 3rd replacement has problems I will also be testing their refund policy...
