  • "I'll tell you who buys desktops."
    4.0 stars
    on by DamageIncM

    Pros: Performance.

Cons: It needs maintenance, but hey, any device needs maintenance.

Summary: Basically, I write this "review" in reply to this other "review" named "who is buying desktops?".

I'll tell you who... people who want performance!
Sure laptops are smaller, but at the cost of less performance.
Laptops can not achieve the same amount of cooling, THUS the parts can not run as hot, THUS can not perform as well.
Laptops are just fixed systems for on-the-go, like you said, but laptops are the powerhouses.
Yes, there are performance-class laptops for gaming and such, but they're more expensive in comparison.
And in the end, they'll be replaced with new technologies faster than a desktop of the same performance.

Just because it's smaller or you can carry it doesn't mean it IS better.
Don't think just because more and more people want to have a computer on them everywhere they go make the Desktop disappear.
The Desktop is still and will be the main computer-system, it's a standard and it's growing faster than ever.
Besides, what's wrong with it?... You can't have a main computer at home and a laptop or something smaller as a secondary?
You can share everything between systems these days anyway.

    I rest my case...
