"A good, Entry Level computer!" on by teamrocketzero

Pros: A good package for someone wanting to surf the web and place pc games. No buggy Windows Vista! Space saving design and economical.

Cons: Cheaply made, no windows vista(that is, if you like Vista)

Summary: My boss spent $800.00 for a HP pavilion desktop and we already sent it off to get the motherboard replaced near the end of the warrantyr. A year and a half later, that same HP motherboard failed again, so her expensive computer with all the bells and whistles sits in my closet, junked. HP told me that it would cheaper for my boss to buy another computer than to send it back for another motherboard and power supply.
THE LESSION HERE: if you put a lot of money into a computer system, go ahead and buy the extended warranty, because most computers are cheaply made junk that will fall apart in two years (Name brands mean nothing). Computer manufacturers do not care if you get screwed after your warranty runs out.
The Emachine EL 1200 is not the fastest, the best equipped, or most expandable machine, but it does offer good bang for the buck. Its a good entry level machine!
The reviewer pointed out that it did not come bundled with Windows Vista, and Thank God it did not: Windows Vista needs so many fixes, and has so many software issues, it will be years before anyone should buy vista.

"Very good for a small form desktop,I have the LE1200 07" on by jscott418

Pros: This product fits well on a small student desk. Many big box desktops may be better on performance but they take up so much room. This works fine and does fine with internet and Office tasks. Watching Video no problem too. Very quiet is also a plus.

Cons: Would be nice if it had built in wireless because their is not room for a card. Obviously any upgrades out of the question. Mine came with a Mouse with a track ball instead of the standard optical. I guess they tried to keep costs down.

Summary: This is all any internet surfing pre teen, or retired person needs. The ideal you need to spend a lot to do these tasks are just coming from someone who wants a bigger bonus. Maybe if your a big multi tasker you would want to pass on this one.
Most still just surf the net and this does perfectly fine. It really runs cool because it uses a laptop type CPU so heat is not a issue and its even very green because of the low power needs.

"Excellent 2nd Machine" on by bsmcm64

    Pros: Quiet, very functional

Cons: Hard to install additional memory, needs more HD space

Summary: Great for student or a second computer. Plays online games well. Added Vista Ultimate and MS Office 2007 (runs with no problems). Graphics are nice. Very please with it overall.

"SINGLE GREATEST PIECE OF TECHNOLOGICAL MASTERY EVER!!!!" on by emchinefan

Pros: IF YOU WERE TO ASK ME WHAT THE PROS WERE, I WOULD ASK YOU HOW MUCH TIME YOU HAD!!!!!

Cons: IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANYMORE. I ALREADY HAVE 17 OF THESE RUNNING IN EACH ROOM OF MY HOUSE, BUT THEY ARE SO GREAT, I AM MAKING A BED OUT OF THEM AND CANNOT SEEM TO FIND ANYMORRE OF THIS RETIRED COMPUTER.

Summary: YOU KNOW HOW WHEN PLAYERS ON A PROFESSIONAL SPORTS TEAM HAVE THEIR JERSEYS RETIRED WHEN THEY ARE SO GOOD? WELL THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS GEM.
I WOULD NOT BE ALIVE TODAY, IF IT WEREN'T FOR THIS MACHINE. IT IS JUST SO BLAZINGLY FAST AND UNBELIEVABLY VERSATILE, THE PENTAGON COULD RUN THE COUNTRY'S OPERATIONS ON HALF, NEY, A SIXTEENTH, OF THIS MACHINE, WHILE PLAYING SOLITAIRE.
IF ANYONE IS DUMB ENOUGH TO PART WITH ONE OF THESE BABIES, I GUARANTEE THAT THEY WILL REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. MY DREAM IS TO BE BURRIED IN A CASKET MADE OF EMACHINE EL1200'S. HOWEVER, THIS WOULD BE A WASTE ON SUCH A SCALE, THAT IT SHOULD BE TREATED AS A TREASON TO THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE.
IF ALIENS EVER INVADE THE EARTH, WE ONLY NEED TO SHOW THEM THIS TECHNOLOGY, AND THEY WOULD IMMEDIATELY BE SO AWE INSPIRED, THEY WOULD ENSLAVE THEMSELVES TO US.
ALL IN ALL, SINGLE GREATEST FEAT OF HUMAN INTUITION, GENIUS, AND INSPIRATION EVER CONCEIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IF I HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN MY OWN LIFE AND THE CONTIUATION OF THE USE OF ONE OF THESE COMPUTERS, I WOULD SLIT MY THROAT RIGHT NOW WITHOUT HESITATION.

    THIS IS ONE SICK PUPPY!!!
SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ABOVE THE AWE INSPIRING MAJESTY THAT IS PRODUCED AS A WHOLE FROM THE SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD.
IF I HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN SAVING THE WORLD AND ONLY ONE OF THESE COMPUTERS, I WOULD HIT THE SELF DESTRUCT BUTTON ON EARTH BEFORE I HAD TIME TO BLINK.

I LOST MY VIRGINITY TO ONE OF THESE COMPUTERS. WHILE TAYLOR SWIFT WAS ON THE BED ASKING FOR IT, HYPOTHETICALLY, LITERALLY.

    Updated on May 15, 2012

I LOVE THIS MACHINE MORE THAN LIFE ITSELF.
JESUS CAME TO EARTH TO DIE FOR THIS COMPUTER.
THE EMACHINE EL1200 IS THE AIR IN MY LUNGS AND THE GROUND BENEATH MY FEET, HYPOTHETICALLY OF COURSE. STEPPING ON ONE OF THESE PURPOSEFULLY SHOULD BE A FEDERAL OFFENSE, PUNISHABLE BY TORTURE UNTIL COMA.

"Not top-notch but upgradable" on by xxshadow93xx

Pros: small space, low cost, good bundle

Cons: cramped space and limited upgrade options

Summary: this wasn't a bad deal for a low-cost PC. however, to even upgrade the RAM or the HDD, you need to nearly completely disassemble the PC, which is a pain to do. had a little trouble getting Windows 7 to install, so i added a 256MB DDR2 stick, and it did the trick. fortunately, as the processor is socketed, i replaced the stock 1.6GHz AMD Athlon 64 with a Dual-Core 3.06GHz AMD Athlon 64 x2. The added memory and replacing the processor made the compiuter more faster and responsive

after installing Windows 7, it's pretty fast, but inadequate for heavy gaming, as the integrated NVIDIA graphics got a score of 2.1, the lowest sub-score in it's built-in rating system. it's fine for casual gaming, but don't expect too much performance using the stock components.
