"A good, Entry Level computer!"
Pros: A good package for someone wanting to surf the web and place pc games. No buggy Windows Vista! Space saving design and economical.
Cons: Cheaply made, no windows vista(that is, if you like Vista)
Summary: My boss spent $800.00 for a HP pavilion desktop and we already sent it off to get the motherboard replaced near the end of the warrantyr. A year and a half later, that same HP motherboard failed again, so her expensive computer with all the bells and whistles sits in my closet, junked. HP told me that it would cheaper for my boss to buy another computer than to send it back for another motherboard and power supply.
THE LESSION HERE: if you put a lot of money into a computer system, go ahead and buy the extended warranty, because most computers are cheaply made junk that will fall apart in two years (Name brands mean nothing). Computer manufacturers do not care if you get screwed after your warranty runs out.
The Emachine EL 1200 is not the fastest, the best equipped, or most expandable machine, but it does offer good bang for the buck. Its a good entry level machine!
The reviewer pointed out that it did not come bundled with Windows Vista, and Thank God it did not: Windows Vista needs so many fixes, and has so many software issues, it will be years before anyone should buy vista.
