"Bargain Find turns out Better!!"
Pros: Cheap, AMD Athlon 64, Optiarc CD DVD RW. Nvidia Graphics. Multi Card Reader upfront.
Cons: No room to go over the 2gigs of RAM. The handiwork was careless and not up to HP's standards by the time I got my hands on it. Windows Vista Home Premiumx32?Had to fix many things.Westinghouse HD had to be replaced
Summary: By the time I got my hand on this machine it had probably been thru some things. It was a clearance item and it fit my needs. I had to replace the HD immediately and I had problems with the usb port and media card readers. I fixed everything and this little bugger runs more efficiently and reliably than the machine I paid way more money for!! The case was also not great b/c there was no room for anything new. The AMD/nVidia combo make a great little machine together.Once I fixed everything it was great. Except for Windows Vista Home Premium. I have Ultimate on my other and I am no stranger to. But why put a 32 bit OS on a 64 chip? and Why Home Premium? It took me a lot of trial and error when Vista came out, to learn how to make things compatible and harmonous. I did a lot of research and Vista Home Premium is only for some one who doesn't know jack about pc's and even then it's bad. So now I am using this little machine as my backup since it only has 2gigs of RAM. But it is Hyper-V Capable and I can used it to test Windows & now. I can't say that for the machine that I thought was supposed to be my super-machine. I won't say who the maufacturer is, but it's not HP!! I love this machine and I love AMD!! Too bad they (AMD) are going to sell their company name to someone else I heard so they can work on much bigger and better things. I did end up installing Windows Vista Ultimate 64. For the price I was actually happy.
