FAST, 64BIT, AMD ATHLON #1by misterjoker - June 14, 2006
Pros: Very fast 1600Mhz FSB, 64BIT system, FAST SYSTEM, expandable up to 4GB RAM
Cons: Some components are intergraded, Onboard ethernet card is very slow, front hp jack doesn't work, NO second ROM drive
Review:
Overal, the computer is extremely fast. One thing you have to remember is not the clock speed 2.2Mhz, but it's really the Front Side Bus (FSB) which you are concerned about. How fast programs run, actually how fast information goes from one end of the cable to the other end. Now Pentium 4 with HT technology only goes at 800Mhz FSB. AMD Athlon runs at 1600Mhz FSB. Compare Pentium 4 or Pentium 5 with AMD Athlon and even Pentium 5 does not include 64 bit computing technology. Also the HDD is fast at 7,200 which is now what HDD usually are for desktops. It also comes with 400MHz 512MB memory, but impressive that the motherboard is expandable up to 4GB (4 slots). Onbaord sound is okay, video is amazing quality at 256MB nvidia. One drawback is onboard ethernet card is very slow. Ability to add up to 8 USB ports. Contains good quality power supply with one fan. Motherboard is MSI brand. What more can I say for the price? Very good, high quality FAST system for the low price.

good starter with upgrade capeabilitiesby luke16 - April 19, 2006
Pros: not expensive, huge upgrade possibility, 200GB hard drive
Cons: lowest end pc's suck, amd 64 athalon 3500 (could be 3800)
Review:
i thought this pc eas a good buy for me as a first buy. i am pleased with it so far but do have some gripes. i did fing an hp with double the ram and pc media center and athalon 64 3800 for 500. i have upgraded this with a graphics card and some ram. i tried to put in a sereal ata hard drive but after many attempts failed. the card reader is a cool feature and external ports are convieanent. i will be upgradeing to a different case, motherboard (possibly) and processor when the new dual core ones come out from amd.
overall this was a good pc and got me through some battle field games with minor lags (i was multi tasking at the time).
this is an ok pc but the hp i was talking about was a better buy.

Great Valueby axekick - April 18, 2006
Pros: Value, Hard Drive, Processor, Expandable
Cons: rebates, base 512 memory, bland appearance
Review:
I've used this daily for nearly one year and have not had any problems at all. My system came with 4 rebates which totaled $300 and I was ripped off one of the $50 rebates by Emachine/Gateway. I upgraded to 1 meg of Ram, and installed a Radeon X800 pro video card and it exceeded my expectations. I also purchased the 17" flat panel monitor and simply have no complaints. I used tech. support one time and they were exceptionally friendly, helpful and polite. Other than the issue with the rebate I know of no reason not to purchase this system if it will suit your requirements for a pc.

Great performance for the price!by crainial - December 15, 2005
Pros: Athlon 64, DL-DVD-RW, Room for expansion
Cons: only one optical drive, only 512MB of RAM

Well, i am one who never thought to have bought an eMachines. In the past the have been viewed upon almost as bad as Packard Bell once was. I think those days are over. A local store has let me try out a eMachines T6412. I was sceptical at first, but was quickly surprised with it's speed. An AMD Athlon 64 3400+ processor really does the job well done. I wish it came with more RAM as it has integrated ATI graphics that eat up 128MB of system RAM. But it does have an empty 16x PCI-Express slot. All for $549 and a $50 mail in rebate. So now I own an eMachines, slapped in 1GB more RAM, an extra hard drive(all of which I had laying around), and a new ATI PCI-Express card, and I have a great PC
