"same complaint as previous used" on by fguv

    Pros: supposed to be fantastic

Cons: will take 40 days to arrive!

Summary: I disagree with the comment made to the first review. If a PC does not arrive on time, it is very much relevant to state this in the review. I ordered this PC on November 28 with the promise that it would arrive in a week. Now the estimated ship time shows JANUARY 5, 2007!!! I called Gateway and they have no answer. You get transferred from one incompetent rep to another.. then you give up.
Is anyone seriously going to argue that they are not interested in this information?? If you are buying this Gateway for the holidays, think again. I am not, so I have not canceled the order. I have always bought DELL in the past and never had any problems.. This is my first Gateway. So far the process of ordering has been very disappointing.

"Im still waiting for my computer" on by jmatts

Pros: Looks lIke a good pc

Cons: Customer service is cryptic and horrible, pc didnt arrive as Gateway said it would

    Summary:

    Updated
Got my computer on Dec. 9th. Gateway told me they were holding the pc til they got the Per Incident Help card that comes with it. Seems to be a lack of contact between customer service and where the computers are put together. I told them to go ahead and ship the pc and send the card later. This was their explination to me for their delay. Anyhow, the pc so far has been very solid. Great build quality. Solid midsize tower. Very fast machine. Interior cables weren't organized well but this is a solid value for the price. I'd revise my rating to a solid 8 just based on the product that i received.

"Not much would make it better. Zipping fast!" on by donnasander

Pros: I can't lock it up....I have had about 20 or more program windows and browser windows up, including word processing, spreadsheets, Math software, Bible software...it handles it all. Love the PC, and Love the Vista operating system!

Cons: I guess if it had 4 little tiny coaster wheels on the bottom of it, it would be nice. Seriously, can't think of anything.

Summary: For one thing, it moves. I am getting ready to buy another machine for my son, a year and a 3/4 later, and even the new processors aren't up to the speed my machine is clocked at, which is comforting. Usually if you buy a top of the line processor, it's outdated in 6 months. But not in this case...I'm actually not going to feel bad. And what the heck are all these damn Sprint pop-ups on the C-net site? Almost lost everything I was writing...Come on guys! You HAD a reputation for having a decent site...don't blow it! Anyway, Gateway is great. I have a Gateway, a HP, a Dell, and an Emachine...and I think the 5th is going to be a ZT systems, just because it's on sale at Costco. I by far like my Gateway. It pays to know computers though, because their tech support sucks. You can get it fine, but they don't know anything. They crashed my machine and reformatted my drive, and deleted my partition the first time I called them. Of course I had no restore, or operating system disks since I did the anytime upgrade to Vista Ultimate, so I had to wait for disks in the mail....and they are not fast either...don't hold your breath waiting for Gateway, cause you'll die.

"Installing x1900 video cards not x1950 GDDR4 memory cards people think their getting" on by MadDawgMike

    Pros: Cost is Cheap

Cons: They are not installing the video cards people are paying for

Summary: I purchased a fx530XG system from them that was to come with a ATI x1950XTX video card with GDDR4 memory. They put a x1900 with a x1950 xtx sticker on it in my system.
This card was not even an option!!!!
They charged me $450 for a $300 card.
    Buyer beware.
    Their support is a joke.
