"Poor quality, poor design, poor support"
Pros: Options fair, USB port count good, hot swappable SATA good, poor internal design.
Cons: Poor quality, power cables for SATA hard swap not mated at factory; rubber footpads are glued, fall off in moving the unit; lack of cooling & cooling options allow hard drives to overheat. Tech support parrot: don't open case it will void warranty
Summary: Poor design and execution.
Be prepared to cut the side panel to mount an outside a fan to cool hard drives. Tech support always responds very quickly via em,ail to a support ticket. But, the response is useless, a legalese statement that if you touch anything the warranty is void. Real support is nil or next to useless. I responded they breached customer satisfaction guarantees, by not producing and assembling a quality product.
After mating he power cables myself, and asking Gateway for a credit for my squandered time (I would have taken a stick of memory or some other component as suitable compensation), the repetitive chant was that the PC is under warranty and I could send it to a repair facility to remate the cables that I mated....Swift...and dumb.
And when it came time to explain that the hard drive was overheating after I added more hard drives (remember hot swappable), it was as if I was speaking to a brick wall. There was dissolutely no comprehension.
Yup, tried phone calls besides emails and updating the ticket, and yup, they were and are useless and the folks in Asia cannot responded if it does not fit their scripts and they are always repeating every seentence.
Wow poor customer service all around and to the extreme.
