The memory scam

Pros: The processor is great

Cons: not enough memory to run Vista Home Premium

Review: I purchased this PC at a great price on TigerDirect, but should have looked closer to the description. Anyone looking for a PC that just works out of the box, this is not it. The dual core AMD processor is fantastic and the system is very quiet for the power, but; it ships with Windows Vista and 1GB of memory (and that's shared memory with the graphics card)... so expect to move your mouse, wait a few seconds and see if you hit your mark :) If you are looking for a cheap base to build a powerful machine, this has plenty of room for expansion (just add at least 1GB of memory and get a new graphics card and you will love it)

Nice computer with easy to access features

Pros: Easy to access features and nice look

Cons: Not as quiet as I would like

Review: I really like the computer and it is much better than the Compaq that we used to have. I like the features and that it is easy to expand. I HATE the mouse that came with it and will be getting a new mouse right away. However, the keyboard isn't bad at all. I would have appreciated it if Gateway would have added the HD card. They included the cable (interesting considering the fact that most companies never throw in cables). Overall this is a wonderful system with good features. I'm pretty happy with the purchase (once again, Micro Center and CNet came through for me).

Great system for the money!

Pros: The system is very stable with good processing speeds. Set-up is a breeze. Bloatware is average not overloaded.

Cons: Another gig of RAM and a LightScribe drive would put this system over the top.

Review: This is the first commercial built system I have ever owned. For the last 10 years I have built my own systems. I was really afraid I would not be happy but found this not to be the case. I'm very pleased with the system overall. Unlike some of the other major manufactures the bloatware uninstalls or is removed easily without reaving a trail of garbage on the drive. The system is very stable in all task. Photo/Video/DVD rendering speeds are very acceptable. For the money, this system cannot be beat.
