"Awesome computer for multitasking" on by -Code-
Pros: I thought the HDMI output was neat sense those were fairly new when i bought this and the 4GB's of ram make multitasking much easier. The option to upgrade the ram to 8 GB's was nice too.
Cons: The graphics card wasn't that great considering Im a gamer and i need the video card to be top notch. No wi-fi either but that was no biggie for me. Some of the cons are easily fixed by upgrading which it leaves plenty of room for it.
Summary: Overall its a great computer that you can multitask with and if you can upgrade the graphics card it makes a computer for gaming. The options for upgrading is nice so i can upgrade it when i need it to perform better. It was an awesome computer at an awesome price!

"Great computer for multitasking.." on by jnimmo2
Pros: It came with 4 gigs of RAM upgradable to 8. Was one of the first computers to have HDMI port.
Is really awsome when I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate. It is very easy to upgrade (I put in a 1 TB HDD).Cons: No built in wi-fi I added a Wi-fi card. Graphic card is not the best. Customer Service not the best, but I do my own work anyway as I am a technician.
Summary: Once Windows Vista is replaced with Windows 7 the computer runs much faster since there is less overhead with the new OS. This is a great computer for the money. I have had it for about 2 years. The gateway monitor that came with it is a High definition monitor. This system can be upgraded easily.

"Well Worth Every Penny Spent!!!" on by RX7408
Pros: The computer is a great system with relatively few compromises. I have had this computer for about 8 months and have loved every minute of it. To start off, there is near zero lag when multi-tasking thanks to a lofty 4Gb's worths of RAM.
Cons: As others stated, the graphics aren't the best in the world. However, I do have it hooked up to my 46" Samsung LN46A650 HD T.V. and it's still pretty nice visually. The graphics card also has an HDMI output. All in all, it's worth every penny spent.
Summary: Don't let others fool you when they say the graphics are not worthy or that Gateway's customer service is not good. The truth is that Gateway had the bargain system and the other companies at the time couldn't compete. I paid $670 at Cicuit City before they went under and have never regretted my investment.
I do plan on upgrading the graphics card here soon to a new radeon unit which will undoubtedly perfect my new system. I plan on getting the Radeon 4670 VisionTek. Unfortunately, if anyone else plans on doing this to their system, you will also have to fork out some extra cash for a new power box. The computer has a 300 Watt box and needs 550 Watts for optimum performance with the aforementioned graphics card. If your still not sure on this system, then you must be looking to spend at least 4 to 5 times more than what I paid for this. Buy it and enjoy, for your wallets sake. -
"Great Computer at a great price!" on by mhanson2424
Pros: Very fast CPU with plenty RAM to run you programs flawlessly. The 64 Bit windows makes this a very good starter system to expand upon. Video Runs perfectly, and programs open up with virtually no wait.
Cons: The graphics capabilities leave a little to be desired, but this system leave plenty of room to upgrade.
Summary: Bottom line is that this is a great starter system, and you will be hard pressed to find a better value with the performance of this system. I think gateway has outdone themselves and I will surely buy from them in the future.

"Excellent machine." on by Zebolt
Pros: Fast and cost-effective. The Phenom X3 is quite powerful by current standards. The amount of RAM is pretty handsome (4GB) and can be doubled if desired. Runs Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit phenomenally well. Lastly, this thing is unbelievably quiet.
Cons: DVD burner supports LabelFlash instead of LightScribe. No built-in WiFi. The blue led in the power button is disturbingly bright. Onboard Radeon HD3200 is decent, but it's still just integrated. Gateway's technical support is an absolute disaster.
Summary: I switched to this PC from a Pentium 4, and of course this thing is a whole different animal. It's a real beast. The integrated graphics are not phenomenal, but they're not bad; I can play Oblivion with medium settings. The triple-core processor is blazing fast. I can finally run Vista as fast ever XP ever ran. It's really nice, using this PC is a real pleasure and the price was a bargain. This ought to last me for a few years, and the specs should be fine for Windows 7 as well.
