Pros: Starts out as a beast of a machine. Runs great for 3-4 months. A lot of computer for the money!
Cons: Begins to randomly shut down. Will only run for a maximum of 30 minutes at a time
Summary: The random shutdown problem is a widely known issue with this computer however Gateway refuses to acknowledge it. It is well documented on dozens of websites and forums as well as Gateways own site. I have spent the last week on the phone and chat with Gateway reps in India trying to troubleshoot the problem. They now want me ship my computer to TX for additional troubleshooting. In addition, they advised me to backup my computer before shipping as the repair facility would likely return my machine to factory specs. Duh, I can't get the computer to run for more than 20-30 minutes so how am I supposed to do a backup. Why can't Gateway just admit that this machine has a major design flaw and authorize repair facilities to install case fans to correct the problem? I'll be calling Best Buy today to see about having a fan installed, at my expense!

Only one included drive (CD/DVD burner/reader)
Worthless and tacky touch controls on frontSummary: I have always been a fan of Dell XPS systems and Alienware, however when I saw the physical stats of this system I knew I had to go out on a limb and buy this machine. And it hasn't disappointed me, I have tried to play the toughest to run games on it and it shows no signs of slowdown.

Spider Man Web of Shadows
Fallout 3
Far Cry 2
Crysis
F.E.A.R 2
Age of Conan
Mirrors Edge
Left 4 Dead
Saints Row 2
Not a single one of these games has any major issues performing on this machine and several of these titles are notorious for running like garbage on low end machines. I have all of my games on max stats nothing turned down. So for a couple hundred dollars more than a PS3 you can get an extremely capable machine that out the door will have a much larger library of games. -

Pros: nothing good
Cons: Randomly shuts down because cooling fans are insufficient and runs too hot
Summary: This is a common problem with the Gateway LX6810 and is obviously a defect. We have demanded that Gateway fix the problem or issue refunds but they refuse. We are filing a class action against Gateway. if you would like to join, send an email to classaction.com@gmail.com.

Pros: none that i can think of.
Cons: Computer is noisy, fan is constantly running. Only one fan for cpu, causing the computer to shut down frin overheating. Called gateway, asks you to send it back to them at your own expense. TV tuner sucks, useless piece of junk.
Summary: The product didn't work, keeps shutting off, gateway refused to take responsibility in fixing these problem even though its not just one person problem, it seems that almost everybody is encountering the same problem. They should take responsibility in fixing without making us paid for their mistake. Thank god they only make computers and anything that can endanger my life.
Services at gateway is getting worse and worse every year. Every time i called there customer service, it gets send to a person that barely speaks any english. If you do want to speak to someone that is not out of this freaking country, it cost you 30 bucks to speak to someone in texas.
I hope they get put out of business soon...they suck. -

Pros: Screeaming machine for the price. just needs blueray, bluetooth and WiFi.
Cons: Overheating Issue
Summary: As others have indicated on multiple sites there is a cooling issue that causes the computer to shut down by its self. Solutions: clean the fan and heat sink every few months; add two additional cooling fans: install the computers parts in a new tower with better cooling; or as I did install the computer parts in a fish tank submerged in mineral oil.
