  • "A really decent gaming rig for HP."

Pros: -Fast processor choices (excluding the one they reviewed here of course)
    -Case not too big
    -Liquid cooling option
    -SSD option

Cons: -Weak selection of graphics cards
    -No 1600MHz Ram option

Summary: Not sure why CNET would choose to review the version with the slower AMD processor. There are four versions of the HP Phoenix currently available, and the three others have fantastic Intel CPUs which are blazing fast (i7 2600/3820/3960). I would never pick the AMD Bulldozer version, which just isn't that good no matter how you slice it.

You can add your own graphics card pretty easily since this unit comes with a stock 600 watt PSU. So if you go with a i7 2600 and add a GTX 560 Ti or a Radeon HD 6950, you have a very decent gaming rig on your hands.

The only ding I give HP is for not offering 1600MHz RAM in this baby.
