Pros reasonably priced, dual amd 64, 320 gig hdd, 2gig ddr2
Cons Not set up for any media center use, audio output not that great, could use a little larger hard drive
Summary I made this purchase mainly because the Dell that I had was making me mad, so I took the Dell out side and pulled a little "Office Space(the fax machine scene)." So, Then I went to the closest Circuit City and talked to one to the Seniors there for a little bit. After a few questions he guided me towards the Hp a6030n. I bought it and had their Firedog guys install a new video card and second hard drive, followed by about a week later an sound card. After those upgrades and about 3 weeks of using it, it works perfect for my applications. If you're in the Atlanta area stop by the Acworth Circuit City...Best Customer Service I have ever gotten out of a retailer.
Pros Graphics card, 2gb
Cons 128mb graphic cards
Summary This really does not have integrated graphics. It has an Nvidia card with 128mb. Not the best but it is there.
Pros Price was not too bad
Cons Fan does not run properly. Overheats
Pros Upgradable, good value for the money
Cons extremely Poor support
Summary After 9 months the hard drive failed, 4 days waiting for HP to call back after intial 2 hour customer service contact. No call back and another week waiting for part from HP. Replacement hd failed after one week (both samsung ), 3 days of trying various reps having me do the same steps over and over. Solution? Ship comp to California for return sometime in January, 1 month of computer loss and they still try to sell me products. This total lack of service overides anything good about this computer.
"A support nightmare"on by RRLee
Pros price/performance (in theory)
Cons installed spamware, poor support
Summary I actually purchased a relative of this system, the A62442N which came as a bundle with a lovely monitor.
The nightmare began with the registration website having no ability to register the particular system, by name or by list. The model number simply does not exist.
I sent email to HP support, with no response after 1 week (other than the automated one, which indicates my request was received)
Calling the help line, I was further surprised to find that my zip code (01701) is invalid, and the support guy could not register me.
And in respone to my request for help removing the eBay, AOL, and othe rpre-installed spamware was "go find a smart friend".
