"Not quite there yet..."
Pros: Very responsive media center PC
Cons: Cannot view HD-DVD movies if more than one display is connected to the system.
Summary: I ended up taking this PC back to the retailer. I went round and round with tech support, because of a problem with the HD-DVD player. It turns out that you can only use this player if you have one display connected to the machine. The minute you hook up a second display (1 digital and 1 analog), the player software gets confused about the resolution to render the movie in. Even worse, disconnecting the second display is not enough to correct the problem, you have to do a full system restore to get HD-DVD movies playable on a single display. Unfortunately, the reason I bought the machine was for the HD-DVD player. Given the problem described above, and what I perceived as anything but impressive picture (on a single display) I decided this package just was not worth it.

I built the same system for $1100 dollars. I then bought a xbox 360 hddvd player for $200. You can use the player with your computer. You just have to get 2rd party software. A 360 plus hd-dvd player plus a home built system is less money than the Hp.
