  • "Mine will not pick up all my cable channels that I get."
    on by jamie_ooh

    Pros all in one design

Cons tv tuner is worthless and will not detect my cable tv.

  • "4 months after purchase often no sound on this system."
    on by Hawaiipawn

Pros It is a big "23" screen, shiny and beautiful with niffty touchsmart features and a slim footprint.. The USB ports seem just enough for the printer, scanner, a back-up drive, a flash, and media peripherals. The nice webcam is VOIP ready!

Cons From day 1 it was slow. The TV-tuner seemed to effect the sound which died after 30 mns of live TV . After a factory fix Windows Media Center couldn't see the tuner. After an in home fix, it still couldn't see it. But HP says, "we can fix it". Again!

Summary It's a great space saver. I don't mind that there is nothing instant about it's performance. A little more speed might enhance the computing experience. I don't game but I edit media semi-professionally so sometimes, time is money.
I liked that they try really hard to make sure you understand how to get the most out of the TouchSmart technology. There is some redundancy with a "Live-TV" function with-in the TouchSmart screen. The integrated productivity software functions well but it is stand alone. You can not minimize the TouchSmart screen while watching TV, or doing anything else, to access the operating system desktop. Windows 7 Media Center with it's full screen function and ability to shrink while using the desktop programs, is far more functional. Something else like a hand written bulletin board pad, could be substituted for Live-TV. I'd like the idea of scrawling a big message for the next user or memo to myself!
Alas, the system broke down after 4 months. The sound came and went at whim. That fixed, now the TV-tuner can't be found by the Windows Media Center, after two attempts to fix it. HP doesn't think that's weird and seems to be willing to let me keep sending it back, at least, until my warranty runs out. My last HP PC, rest it hearty CPU, lasted 10 years! This time I was hoping for at least five but have gotten zero!

  • "The best computer ever created."
    on by fireball9275

    Pros Large screen
    Fast
    Touchscreen
Just take good care of it and it will be perfectly fine for a really long time.

Cons There are absolutely nothing bad to say about this computer.

Summary I have had this computer for 3 years now and it has never let me down. It is fast if you keep it clean and take care of it. I will probably not change computers for a very long time and if this ever does break I will get this again. The best buy in my life.

  • "Had to purchase extended warranty for this piece o junk"
    on by alyciakeating

    Pros nice big screen

Cons fragile, temperamental, OS can't hold it's own and fails for no reason, search engine chooser won't let you choose google, directories get all messed up and confusing, permissions get screwed up, I could go on and on and on and on....

Summary I am on the phone w/ tech support at least once every 2 weeks with this high maintenance, fragile, unstable piece of garbage. The CD/DVD drive had to be replaced. The new one does not work. Somehow, there are about 6 users (all me) on my computer and nothing saves to the correct location. I do not have permissions to make changes on my own machine. Carbonite downloads to the wrong places. My computer got stuck in a boot loop because it got stuck on an MS update and I tried shutting it down. I ended up having to reformat the first time. Upon redownloading everything from carbonite and reinstalling everything I had lost, I found even more users (all me) that I had no permissions to change. Help desk was helpful but really, I am not happy to have to call them every other week and spend hours on the phone with them. I tried rearranging my directories to make them make more sense, silly me, and ended up having to reformat once again last night. I never had any problems with my old Pavillion tower. I really regret having spent all that money on this piece of crap. On the one year anniversary of the purchase I felt I had no option but to pay another $179 for another year of tech support. I'll use it.

  • "Not the best all in one pc in the market."
    on by PCuser3971

Pros None - PC is only 1 year old and already crushed ... ran diagnostic today and it says SMART Short Self Test failed ... meaning my hard drive will fail soon.

    Cons The whole PC

Summary Their printers are excellent ... but not their PC
