Pros Powerful, compact, highly useable and NOT APPLE.
Cons Obsolete AMD processor.
Summary When I first saw this design on a blog last month, I liked it immediately. As I already have several HP systems, its quality is not in question. The only mistake they've made with the IQ770 was their decision to use the Turion processor which has been around for awhile and is not one of AMD's best efforts. A much better choice would have been Intel's Core 2 Duo. The system price would be higher but more than worth it.
I also wish cNet would stop comparing every pc product to Apple. Your bias is obvious and it is clear to me that some of you should be writing for MacWorld where you can preach to the chior.
Pros Flashy, futuristic design; touchscreen capable, intuitive software
Cons Though flashy and futuristic, quite bulky considering today's technologies; runs Windows (which really is Microsoft, not HP)
Summary HP wins points for being unique, no doubt. Featuring a touchscreen, wireless mouse and keyboard, a stylus and a big 19" widescreen LCD. This overpriced oddity doesn't seem to be worth it's $1800 price tag. For that price, one would expect HP to give you ample resources instead of what this All-in-one has to offer. As I pointed out to another user, Apple is used in comparisons quite often because they (and Sony) are the only company to achieve excellence in design. It's really not that hard, you just need to put a little effort into it. I'm not against this design, I like it well enough, but I like how small and compact the iMac is. And in response to another user, Apple computers are not useless. Considering they can run Windows XP and will run Vista, Apple will continue to thrive. The only hope these other companies really have is to put their hearts into their designs or create THEIR own OS. Like Steve Jobs said at Mac World, a company who creates their own hardware should create their own software.
Pros Beautiful PC but lots of bugs and tech support knows nothing about this pc
Cons untrained tech support and bluetooth keyboard
Summary I was very really excited about this pc and all the features and I am sorry a lot of them don't work and when you talk to teck support it is clear they don't know very much about this PC. One of the features that I really wanted was to be able to write on the sticky notes but it stopped working after the 2nd day and 2 hourswith teck support did nothen but drive me crazy
Pros Bells and whistles look great
Cons Software and hardware don't work.
Summary Do not buy this product. The wireless keyboard has not worked properly since it arrived. Characters repeatedly did not register on the screen, even if I hit them several times. HP sent another keyboard and it also did not work. It might be a receiver problem. I have now read about this keyboard problem on this and other sites. But that is not the “real” problem. On the advice of the floor salesman, I was told that graphic and movie editing would be greatly improved if I upgraded from Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate. I paid another $250. As a result of this Vista upgrade, HP support tells me they will no longer offer any support for this unit. I can pay $59 per hour for support. Mind you, this is for a hardware issue.
HP chat support also stated:
Quote “It is not uncommon for a battery to last less than an hour or over two hours. Approximate battery life for a NiMH battery is 1.5-2.5 hours and for a lithium ion (Li ion) battery 2.0-3.0 hours.”
Your choice guys !!! I have been purchasing desktops for since 1982 and have never had such a bazaar experience. Over 7 hrs of HP tech support written chats and waiting on hold for phone support and they keep saying the same things over and over. Now they want $59 per hour to fix a hardware issue. I will never buy another HP product. This one stinks and is incredibly slow for an $1850 computer.
Pros Ability to touch screen
Cons Wireless Keyboard eats batteries.
Summary I love my touchsmart computer but, the wireless keybaord and mouse eats up batteries even when the computer isn't in use. It is also a bit slow in loading all the programs and I haven't added much from the purchase. I would though recommend this to anyone.
