"DOA and they charge you to take it back"
Pros: none whatsoever
Cons: Poor workmanship, quality control, customer support
Summary: I paid $109 for next day shipping. It took 6 days and they would refund only $40. I ordered PS2 mouse and keyboard. They shipped USB (non-working, flimsy as hell). Poor assembly -- cables blocking all available drives and most PCI slots. The case was advertised as not requiring tools. Only the glass side panel is removable and it's held in place by 3 tiny screws.
The machine powers on (all lights and fans start up) then beeps and shuts itself down. It starts up and shuts down again, over and over. After about an hour of this (testing it with both the keyboard and mouse that shipped and a PS2 keyboard and mouse from one of my other machines) I tried to get a return or replacement. The company issued an RMA right away, but no return airbill. They expect me to pay the $85 to ship it back, in spite of the fact that the salesman promised otherwise at the time of the sale.
IBUYPOWER intially refused to connect me with the original salesman when I asked to speak with him. When I finally did reach him, he denied promising that he would pay for shipping. He started screaming at me. Another employee was also very abusive and childish, hitting all the numbers on his touch tone phone whenever I tried to reason with him, before eventually hanging up on me. None of these people seem to speak English very well. Perhaps they just couldn't understand what I was saying. But I got the impression that I was dealing with a bunch of 13-year olds. I eventually managed to get the president of the company's email address in Taiwan. No response yet, though. What a bunch of amateurs! Their web site and name should have been a tip off -- it looks like something a kid would do. How this company ever got a good review from anyone is a mystery to me. After my brief interaction with them, I find it very hard to take them seriously.Updated
The word "Abysmal" which you see on so many reviews is not the reviewer's name. It is appended by cnet based on the number rating. I am glad that the reviewer who criticized another reviewer's comments got a decent machine from this company. I wish I had. But, unfortunately, his good opinion of this company does not help me or any other customer who purchased defective machines from IBUYPOWER and had to pay for the privilege of shipping them back. And if the company didn't intend to pay in my case, it should not have lied about it to make the sale.
PS - This company customizes its system for each user, so it's hard to review a particular model. Each user's configuration will probably vary (some considerably) from the one that was reviewed. However, since my review deals with company policy, quality control and treatment of customers, I felt it is equally applicable to any unit sold by IBUYPOWER.Updated
After my dead computer was shipped back, IBUYPOWER not only refused to pay the return shipping -- they now say they are deducting the cost of shipping the dead computer TO me plus an unspecified amount for "handling". This directly contradicts what I was promised in my long, detailed telephone conversations with two of their reps. I am filing formal complaints with the Attorney General for the State of CA (where IBUYPOWER is located) and the Better Business Bureau. It's fine to complain to cnet, but they can't get your money back. The Attorney General can, if enough people complain. The Better Business Bureau can force them to remove that BBB logo from their web site that makes users think they are dealing with a reputable company. You can file a complaint online at: http://ag.ca.gov/consumers/mailform.htm.
The email address for the BBB in their area is cmpl@labbb.org.

I had a very similar experience with a system I bought from IBUYPOWER..their customer service is horrible. Do you still have the e-mail address from the President of the company? I would love to send him an e-mail about my experience as well (My address is bluefruitloop82@yahoo.com)
