"Don't forget the other things that are missing"
Pros: cheap, internally expandable
Cons: noisy, lacks various things that come with a mini
Summary: Your review says:" The only advantage the Mini has that we can see is that it has wireless networking and Bluetooth capability built-in."
Really? What about iLife, Firewire? digital and analogue sound in and out? The possibility of re-installing OS X in the event of problems? The possibility of sticking it next to the television without taking up half the TV cabinet??!!
Miniaturization (as with the mini) always costs money and usually costs some performance too, but it adds a value of its own.
A much fairer comparison would really be to add in the price of a good quality keyboard, mouse and monitor and compare the Psystar to a basic iMac. The price of such a configuration would actually be pretty similar.

What you stated was what I was thinking when I read this article. How could they compare apples to oranges like that. I was thinking, I have a mac mini in my glove compartment. That psystar wouldn't fit there. Obviously slower laptop parts are going to yield slower benchmarks.

Hi Rod, I'm just wondering if you noticed that the tests that were ran on the Mini were done with Tiger loaded, and the tests ran on the Psystar were done with Leopard Loaded.
We all know that Lepoard gave all Macs a huge boost in speed......which is obvious in the Psystar wana be tests.
