"Not that reliable"on by holo3578
Pros Very fast performance, sleek design.
Cons I had numerous hardware failures that made this computer the worst computer I have ever experience.
Summary Yes, this computer is expensive. I made the mistake of purchasing a similar model a few years ago, because I was amazed at all the good reviews it got, and the company promised reliability above everything else. Once the 1 year warranty was up, the motherboard, video card, power supply and a hard drive all failed within 1-2 years. My tech said it was a manufacturing defect. But because it was out of warranty, Velocity Micro didn't care at all, even though it was manufactured as defective. So, I spent this extra money on a reliable product (because I hate the cheap computers everyone comes out with these days), and I get in return the worst computer that I've ever had, at the most expensive price I've ever had. I got pimped, and I've heard similar complaints from others.
Pros Quiet and pretty system in silver with its nice blue lights. Office works great on it, never loaded so quickly and my son brags about it to all his friends "My Mom rocks, she got me a Velocity, its Faster than yours"
Cons Site doesnt offer 2TB HD's at least on this, I called in and added it though
Summary Its a great machine for a nice price. My son loves it becuase its so small and he can take it to his "LAN Parties" as he calls them, he plays a game called left 4 dead2. I got it for him for gaming and school and for myself to work at home mainly using Word, Excel, Outlook, not games but they load incredibly quickly and for Facebook too. Complete package
Pros Very powerful but quiet system, amazing video editing and gaming experience, very good value for the price.
It comes with a real windows disk and no crapware or bloatware that I could find.
Cons There is not much to dislike about this computer; would like it there was options for other colors for fan lighting.
Summary As someone who used to build my own machines to save money this was a real find. You pretty much cannot build a machine like this for the same price by the time you factor in shipping, and this one is fully supported and I did not have to build it.
It's REALLY fast. I use it mainly for photo and video editing but also occasional gaming. It is a huge jump over my last machine which wasn't very old. It's also a well thought out design from the forward facing card reader to the slick metal fold-down DVD tray which gives the front a seamless and stylish appearance.
Pros Velocity Micro PCs are very customizable with many choices to pick from unlike most of the competition. Before I bought, I checked numerous other manufacturers and found that these guys stand behind their products.
Cons I am not a big fan of silver, but it does look wickedly cool with the blue lighting.
Summary The review itself should speak loudly of the quality and performance. This mini-beast came in second to a machine selling for $1,000.00 more, and then only missed out by a few points. The guys at Velocity sure know how to make a computer "walk the walk."
By far one of the best systems for the money if you like to game.
Pros Very fast, and custom made for the same price as a store bought system.
Cons Wish the case was black, but at least it looks cool. (Wish Cnet would take pictures with the systems running so you can see the lighting)
