"Great radio when it worked." on by 1976eagle

Pros: Really enjoyed it while it worked!

    Cons: Died after 3 months.

Summary: Had the radio for about 3 months and it worked great. Then, it would not connect to WiFi. Spent my $ to send it into Livio for warranty and just received it back from them. They said they fixed it, but while it will now OCCASIONALLY connect, it will not play.

"Perfect item for Pandora Addicts" on by snidely9447

Pros: Nice looking. Easy to use once set up for both Pandora and internet radio. Best for use w. your existing sound system.

Cons: Set up instructions could be more detailed. Took about 20 min., instead of 10. Built in speaker could have better sound quality. Doesn't support the fast 192K Pandora bit rate available to paid subscribers.

Summary: Excellent product - especially for version one.
Suggestions would be to have two products. One with a somewhat bigger display screen and no speaker, and a larger unit like a mini-boombox with dual speakers and built in rechargable batteries so you can easily move it from room to room. Available for $150 incl. shipping from Amazon.

Have used it for about 3 weeks now. Can listen to Pandora all day without skipping a beat. I listened to my son's 3 hour weekly radio DJ program via the internet - perfect connection.
I mention the rock solid connection because in reading user reviews on what seemed like a much more sophisticated product - Squeezebox - there were lots of complaints about maintaining connectivity - even with the router in the same room. We are connected via wifi - where the router is in another room about 30' away.
I didn't know about Squeezebox when I bought this. I would love to have the display remote that system has (at twice the price). Glad I didn't buy it Dropping connections just doesn't cut it.

"Great idea but need more features and upgrades." on by Fujilanga

Pros: Is easy to use. Great idea for reception of radio stations without a PC.

Cons: System don't have audio adjustments. Don't have a sleep timer. Don't have a battery back-up to keep the time of day during power disconections. The buffering is a big problem. Need better adjustments options for the backlight at sleep time.

Summary: In general is a great idea. I bought it because of Pandora. The Livio Radio is a great idea that need better features and upgrades for the cost of it. From my point of view and as a business person I think they need to get better software and updates for it. I would like it to have a better reception from a wireless network, in my case I have problems with it. Also need audio adjustments like Bass and Trebel because each person want different adjustment of audio, also need to solve the buffering problem. Need a sleep timer and better backlight adjustments for the sleep time. In general is a good idea that need attention for the good of the business and customers. Thank you and good luck.

"Very nice sound and very easy to setup." on by gelatinous1

Pros: Seems to be well built. Nice and stout. Music is very clean sounding as long as the sampling of the sound playing is about 48K. The pandora sound quality is GREAT!

Cons: Wish it had some type of equalizer! You're stuck with the standard settings. Quality control is somewhat lacking as mine has a crooked display!

Summary: So far I really like the radio. It seems to be a mid range product that is well worth the money.
