Great sound quality with easy setup.

Pros: Great sound, plays almost every format, very cool. Sets up in minutes. Play the music from your computer or from the internet.

Cons: A little computer knowledge is helpful but not a huge problem.

Review: A great choice for streaming audio from both your ripped and downloaded music and internet radio. Unfortunately it has been discontinued but that makes it even a better buy. The server software should work for years to come. I bought mine a couple of years ago for about 280 US$ and it's the best item I've ever spent that much on. It's been worth much more to me.

Outstanding product compared to the Roku Soundbridge

Pros: I've had a Roku Soundbridge M500 for a few years. It finally went to Soundbridge Heaven and I chose to replace it with the Squeezebox Classic. What took me so long!! If you're looking to stream Rhapsody or your music collection, get a Squeezebox

Cons: The remote isn't quite intuitive and you'll need to familiarize yourself with the Users Manual before you're great at it.

Review: This really is an amazing device. The fact that it can be totally controlled from a web interface is just so convenient. The remote works for other situations like the bedroom. I am really pleased with my purchase and would seriously consider getting another one. I've had bad luck with Roku regarding reliability, so I was not looking to replace my older M500 when it stopped working. I am so glad I chose this device. Very well designed, looks great with my stereo and has exceed my expectations.

BTW, I got mine on Ebay, brand new, for $225 with free shipping, so be sure and shop around.

What a fab player

Pros: The device is near flawless (a color display would be marginally cooler, but who can really argue at this pricepoint!). The ability to stream both your own library and music from online services is great! I also stream my local NPR .

Cons: I would love to be able to manage individual tracks using the included slim server software. But, its a small oversight.

Review: Highly recommend. I plan on buying additional units for other rooms in the house.

Great product, purchased mine before Logitech

Pros: Great audio, and many options with Internet radio sites. I've read that Satellite radio can even be piped through the Internet to Squeezebox... not sure if that's true or not.

Cons: 1) Sometimes the music names/genres don't match iTunes, and I can't figure out why.
2) I've found it impossible to get tech support from Logitech.
3) No progress indicator for library scan
4) Can't pop a CD in my computer and just play

Review: The coolest thing I've done with it is to move my SlimServer (which you install on your PC with all your music)... I've moved it to my Buffalo TeraStation. Now I have all my audio available and don't need my computer to even be turned on. Fantastic!

No contest versus Roku

Pros: Lossless support givens highest fidelity

Cons: Doesn't support DRM , who cares

Review: If you are a purist where music is concerned this is by far the best means of tidying up your CD collection. The Roku is fine if you listen to downloaded low fi MP3s but worthless otherwise. The Squeezebox handles Apple lossless perfectly and I am able to listen to any of my 800 CDs from the couch. In fact I have just ordered two of the new Duets to have similar access to music in two of the other rooms.

Excellent quality and functionality at a premium price.

Pros: Beautiful sound quality. Easy to install and use. Elegant enclosure.

Cons: A bit on the expensive side.

Review: After receiving the Squeezebox as a Christmas present, I was immediately impressed with the heft and finish of the unit. Powering the unit up, it immediately found my Wi-Fi network, prompted me for a WEP key and obtained an IP address.

I'm still fighting with the Windows-based audio file-serving software (perhaps 5000+ MP3s is too much), but the ability to stream Internet radio, Rhapsody, Pandora, Live365, and just about every streaming audio feed on the 'Net makes it worth the price of admission.

It has both coax and optical digital audio output as well as Burr-Brown DACs feeding a pair of RCA audio connectors. This is a high quality piece of audio equipment. The gloss black finish perfectly matches my Pioneer Elite HDTV and Sonus-Faber Grand Piano speakers, and the florescent display can be easily read from 12+ feet away.

Only the steep price tag keeps me from giving this unit a perfect 10/10.
