"How can anyone endore this POS!?"
Pros: What it finds on your HDD it'll play, but beyond that there's not much to like
Cons: Where to start...well, I guess by saying that it doesn't work as advertised.
Summary: The software that accompanies this unit is so primitive and ineffective it's beyond me how it could even be released. After working the the Prismiq customer service reps on numerous occasions trying to get the wireless cards to work (two that I bought new and one that Prismiq sent me), I eventually freaked out and simply ran CAT 6 cable. I will compliment the customer service reps I worked with. They were very patient and cooperative, and it's not their fault that they're forced to deal with a media streamer that simply doesn't deliver.
Like I said in my 'Pros' comments, the content that the software (Prismiq MediaManager) does find and import does seem to play just fine. The problem for me is that it seems to randomly skip over all sorts of content. None of it is copy-protected or tainted in any way, it's just as if it's not even there. For example, I have roughly 5,000 mp3s on my computer, and after allowing MediaManager to scan my system it only found about 2700. ***!?!
Anyway, don't waste your money. Wait until these companies figure out how to build a good medai streamer, cause if you buy this one you'll end up with a sour taste in your mouth that's tough to get rid of.

it looks like the box only supports mp3, wma, wav, and ac3. Is it possible that some of your 5000 music files were aac, or ogg or an incompatible format like that?
