I actually bought one of these that someone else returned. The sales people at one of the box stores told me to transfer video to my computer I was going to have to buy $40 cables if I wanted the cameras that cost hundreds of dollars. This little thing was much cheaper and came with all the cables and adaptors required. Somewhere in my travels I lost the power/recharger cord but no sweat, it will recharge on my computer of the usb car charger I use for my "personal assistant" gadget. The video is adequate and but I think I'll have to pony up for the software to edit quicktime videos since I don't seem to be savvy enough to convert the formats. The HUGE surprise was how great the video looked on our new HDTV and I have taken numerous stills that I could blow up to 8X10glossies at the photo machine and they look terrific. I do a lot of traveling and need an on the fly recorder that I can stuff in a shirt or jeans pocket. The audio recorder is handy but not very high quality. At this proce you can't have everything. I like sticking with sd cards becasue they are cheap and easy to swap out on the fly. Good entry level all purpose camera for people who want memories not academy awards for cinematography. The price is perfect if you lose things or want to have more than one around.
