"not worth for the price" on
Pros: I did some research on camcorders and it ended up a Canon Elura 70.I used if for both indoor and out door video and still pictures. The out door perfomance looks good. Zoom is good.Battery lasts for about 2 hours of shooting with LCD on.Audio recording qu
Cons: When I used for indoor video and still, it gave dark pictures. Pictures were blurred and horrible in low-light situations. The same recordings viewed on the TV looked still darker. The camcorder was used in the same manner as described in the user's manual

"I love this camera!" on
Pros: Size. Ease of use. Sharp video quality (except in low light). Excellent zoom. Excellent still pic quality (for 1.3mp). Still pics saved to SD card instead of tape. Good battery life.
Cons: Doesn't come with firewire cable. Doesn't come with blank tape. Neckstrap too thin and uncomfortable.
Summary: I just sold my Canon Hi8 8mm camera and bought the Elura 70. The video quality is like night and day. The Elura gives me a tack sharp image except in low light. The built in light does a pretty darn good job of illuminating the area around you in that instance. I love the fact that stills, which are of good quality too for 1.3mp, are captured to a SD card instead of on the tape like 8mm cams with still capabilites.

"Canon techsupport sucks big time!" on
Pros: Lightweight.
Cons: No video software, misleading advertisement. The worse techsupport I have ever encountered. Was happy with Canon until I found out how bad their techsupports were.

"Eject Problems" on
Pros: I really liked the camera until the eject mechanism broke. It has a lot of great features for a decent price (if you shop around on-line).
Cons: Just like the guy said in an earlier review. My eject mechanism broke in less than 2 months. Plus there's a tape in there??? I haven't contacted cust. serv. yet, so we'll see about how they handle this. But, there are only 2 service centers in the U.S

"Digital video for family and fun." on by Cstuu
Pros: Small, easy to use, good battery life.
Cons: Price is too high, still pics need flash accessory, built in light is terrible.
Summary: If you are looking for a camera that you can make DVDs of family video, and include snap shots as well, the Elura 70 is not a bad choice. I havn't seen alot of digital video, but I have taken my own video of birthdays and holidays and it looks great. The transfer to DVD is easy and the snap shots you take are good, both on the computer and television, but not for printing. My biggest problem with this camera is the price. Although I like it alot, a tag of $400-$500 seems high; and to make those still pics better I had to buy the Canon VFL-1 Light/Flash (which did help). I got my Elura 70 during a great sale, and would recommend it if you have the same luck.
