"Very Impressed" on by capita
Pros: Compact, excellent video quality, photos are great, option for more accessories....
Cons: ok in low light (not as bad as I thought)
Summary: I am very impressed with this camera. The video quality is A+. I was expecting far worst. The photo quality really surprised me(also other features such as doing sequence photos is really neat). In low light the video quality wasn't all that bad. I mainly been using the camera inside to get video of my 2 year old.
Another thing that I really liked was the price. I got it at walmart for a pretty good price. I really think its worth more then I paid. I also like the option to add more accessories such as wide angle lens, filters, light, flash, etc...
It's a really good buy. If your on a budget like me, this is the camera for you. -
"A good buy" on by shaomun
Pros: Quality of Video
Cons: Poor low light performance
Summary: After returning 2 camcorders finally got one camcorder that met my budget and my liking.
Pros:
* Great movie quality at bright light.
* Nice look and feel.
* Steady shots and good zoom.
* Great movie resolution when transfering to PC/DVD.
Cons:
* Low light performance is not up to the mark.
* Video streaming only possible with firewire or 1394 cable and it does not come with it.
* comes with only 16MB SD card.
* Poor still resolution. -
"Good camera for a fair price" on by zoh721
Pros: Lightweight, big screen, quiet, great outdoor color, remote control
Cons: Max 10 sec recording to SD Card (with High Res; 32 secs with Low Res), no mic input, slow digital picture taking, drains battery within 40 mins
Summary: I did a fair amount of research and decided to buy this camera (got it from Dell for around $350 with dell deals and coupons with free shipping). I thought the camera would be able to store more than 10 seconds on the SD Card. My Fuji digi cam records 80 secs, and it's 3 years old now!!
Anyway, the DV tape recordings are crisp, clear, and colorful if recorded OUTDOORS. Indoors, it's nothing special.
If I had to do it all over again, I would spend more time researching and maybe spend a little more on a camera that could record more on a SD Memory Card with better quality and had a light. -
"Cool lil camera" on by CanonDude
Pros: Video quality, zoom, low light isn't as bad
Cons: Some motor noise
Summary: I have just recieved the Elura 80 today and got to shoot a test clip. Very great quality compared to the crappy quality on my old ZR30MC. It is very compact when I first opened it out of the box. Unfortunately, there is some motor noise when recording video, but compared to the ZR30MC, it's a bit quieter. As for low light, I was very surprised that the low light situations weren't as bad as I thought or have read in other reviews. It all depends where you're shooting at, in my case 3 feet from a window with no additional lighting.
Overall, it's a great camera. -
"poor camcorder" on by ebohm
Pros: Cheap camcorder
Cons: Cheap camcorder
Summary: you need to be outside in daylight to have a picture worth viewing. When in doors the picture is hard to see unless you have every light on and 100 watt bulbs in them. After 6 months I got a blue screen of death and it no longer works. Shame on me for not spending more on a better camcorder.
