"Soo many features, so little brain..." on
Pros: There are so many features on this camera that I'm going to have a hard time learning them all. The quality seems very good compared to what I've seen so far. The image quality is very nice and the sound is nice and clear. So far so good.
Cons: The 40 minute battery they supply is a joke. Get yourself the 240 min better battery for it.

"Great Video, poor still images..." on
Pros: Excellent size for a camcorder. Very please with the quality of video that this unit puts out. Have not had a chance to do extensive testing, but preliminary reviews give this unit a 2 thumbs up for a video camcorder.
Cons: Very horrible still picture quality. I also have a Canon G3 digital camera with 4.0 Mega Pixels so I could just be too use to the quality of those images. But strongly reccomend NOT buying a camcorder for still images and spend your money on a high qual

Summary: I read a lot about this camcorder and decided to buy it. I checked the still pictures as well as the videos from this. The performance when the light is full is excellent. the effective resolution of 1.3 mega pixel for the videos produces great results. For the still pics..I took pics with three options 680x 1020xand the highest resolution and then developed them as 4x6, 8x10 and one poster size...and the results are very saticfactory. I am happy for the price I paid.
Low light performance is a little better than other sony camcorders. so I preferred this camcorder over Sony DCRHC-85 and DCRHC-65. -

Pros: Well designed light weight compact camera. Great color fidelity except bright yellows seem a bit off (I think this is not unusual for any consumer video cam though). Hot shoe on top for adding mic/lights. Excellent optics and very quick focus. Shoots grea
Cons: The covers over the inputs/outputs feel flimsy and seem like they will be easy to break off. Short battery life on stock battery. Manual not very helpful. Wished it had a night vision mode.
