Pros: ease of use was a must and the camera was mostly intuitive. Without reading the manual you will be up and running with very little trial and error, however take time and read the online manual and you will be better pleased with the product.

Cons: It requires very good eyesight to read some of the menus/ adapter icons. A wider variety of recording formats would be helpful. Having to use the power adapter in order to transfer to a pc is an added step and minor inconvenience.

Summary: There was a small bit of noise from the internal mechanism running under quiet conditions, but unnoticable under normal sound conditions, however on page 70 of the manual it explains and reccomends to use an external mic to avoid the noise for quiet recording, problem solved. The software supplied actually does a fair job of video and audio manipulation which makes for a lot of fun when creating a music video or a video blog and it works similar to other editing softwares. The camera can perform most functions without the use of a computer but the addition of a pc will enhance your experience in final edit.
