Pros + Amazing video quality
+ Great zoom
+ Touch Screen
+ Tons of features
Cons - TERRIBLE BATTERY LIFE! (Under 50 minutes)
Summary This camera has a lot going for it, but right now it just sits on my shelve. Yes it has amazing video quality, and tons of features, that I would have loved to mess around with. But the battery life is absolutely horrid. After fully "charging" this camera, I am luckily to get 50 minutes of use out of it before the battery is nearly/fully drained. And worst off it discharges while not in use. Taking the battery out doesn't help the drain issue. So yeah I may have a defevice battery, but finding a replacement is nearly impossible and from what I seen very expensive. I wish I had read more about it before I bought it. The only good thing is that you can record while charging.. but that eliminates the purpose.
Good camera.. tons of features. Horrid battery life.
Would I recommend this to anyone? NO.
Pros Decent Touchscreen
Pretty good low-light
Lightweight, built-in lens cover
Potential great recording time (if plugged in); allows you to treat the built-in memory, and up to 2 SD cards as one big 'pool' of time.
Cons To replace battery, you have to access the camera bottom = lost time if recording at an event.
Battery life is pretty low at 50-65 minutes. If you get things exactly where you want, you could close the LCD panel, which might improve it slightly.
Summary A nice little camera, particularly if you find a good price used. Zoom is greater than many Canon camcorders (20X), and the 'spanning' of recording media is nice. The built-in 32GB means you won't get caught without a memory card in it. It also allows you to hook up an external microphone to it, although it has no hotshoe to mount anything.
The built-in 32GB + 1-16GB +1-8GB = 5.5 hours at the highest quality.
Pros Good to great image, usuable zoom speed settings, decent but not great LCD, easy to use intuitive menu system, works well in low light, and great customization is capable.
Cons Battery life is low, 60 minutes on average; auto white balance and auto focus turtle slow, battery takes too long to charge, no external charger, and LCD swing out feels cheap and flimsy. Nobody in the entire country has batteries.
Summary Great carry around that fits securely in a jacket pocket that delivers a better than average image but with out spare batteries and a charger that takes forever it is definitely not the camera you want to take on a trip with you. Canon blew it on the battery front. If I could return it for a refund, I would.
