"Excellent HD picture quality"
Pros: Excellent picture quality and daylight performance - colors are quite accurately captured.
IAF works very well in typical lighting conditions.
User interface that is easy to use.Cons: Does not record video at full HD on latest class 10 Sandisk Extreme III SDHC cards even though canon requires "class 4 or higher" SD cards & specifically recommends Sandisk.
Low light performance is average.

Pros: Quality every where... very mature no nonsense look...so many easy to use features/functions (Its more like carrying a solid weapon or gun :))

"Great Camera, but horrible software leads to headaches"
Pros: Fantastic compact design and incredible 1080p image quality makes this camera hard to beat for the price. Allows for lightweight, easy filming, while the 1.3 inch sensor and CineMode (24fps) help maintain an incredible film like experience.
Cons: The camera uses the horrible Pixela ImageMixer 3 SE for capturing and editing your video. The Vixia HF S100 only has a USB connection, no firewire support for Premiere Pro. Raw .MTS (high def) file conversion makes you loose that 1080p resolution.
