"Stunning Picture Quality!"
on by cams4life87Pros Cool features include Face Detection, Trascodiing feature (let's you transfer HD videos to standard definition DVDs so you can share ur video with the non-blu-ray user), and Photo Capture.
Cons It's a little pricey, and I wasn't about to spend a thousand dollars on a camcorder, but there's a coupon code for 20% off on their website, (www.hitachibd.com). Pretty sure it still works, just type in SAVEBIG for the discount!
Summary These days you want to get your money's worth in a camcorder, especially with all the options out there. I think the latest Hitachi DZB10HA definitely has a lot to offer, with longer recording time, bigger bandwidth, and a choice of 3 HD formats: Blu Ray, HDD, and SDHC. The 7 mega pixel 1/2.7" CMOS Image Sensor can record video at 1920x1080 (that's up to 4 hours and 20 min) and still images at 6.22 mega pixels. Optical Image Stabilization does just what it sounds like-prevents the image from shaking if you bump the device, while maintaining image sharpness.
All in all a pretty great buy! I uploaded photos from my europe trip to my Facebook and it sure saved time and space using this handheld size camcorder. The longer recording time is a great feature along with Optical Image Stabilization--works great when you're on a 2.5 hr bumpy bus ride! After getting some good use out of it, I would say the Hitachi DZ-BD10HA was money well spent. -
"Great Camcorder"
on by no1kahunaPros Better video and photo quality than Canon HF200 or HG10. I have owned these two but this one beats them both. Sensor matches the HG10 in size but processing seems to be a notch better. Picked this up at Sam's Club for $399!
Cons A bit bulky and slower processing but who's in a hurry...great for family and vacation use.
Summary Great price, excellent video and photos.

"Stunning pictures and flexible format"
on by euler_collegePros I shopped around and compared this one with those high end HD cams from Sony and Canon. There is simply no comparison: this model outperform others in ease of use, picture quality, and features and at significantly lower ticket price.
Cons Slight bigger body than those HDD or SDHC cams but, you know, it has blu-ray or DVD compartment.
Summary There is no clue why CNET give it ***. It is certainly biased at best or may be fraudulent.

on by kiwipassion56Pros Really nice picture, very convenient to have hard drive
Cons a bit larger than other cams but I like the way it felt in my hand

"Ugly Stubble"
on by teotwawkiPros Three formats for the techno geek. 4.2 hours of HD recording.
Cons Slow as a dog, ugly as a stubble, pricey discs, no ear plug or spkr output, did I mention it is as slow as molasses in February? I think there is a good chance I should have waited for it all to just be put on a IC. Sooner or later.
Summary It's a machine, that does a lot for initial minimal monetary output. It is slow but simple. Quality is there except you got to watch low light levels. Missing features that should be there, but lack of features make operation simple. It's simple for simple people like me..........Simon
