"Very Good HD Video" on by smoothbassman

    Pros: Excellent Design

Cons: Battery , No Image Stabilization

Summary: Despite the issues of the Image Stabilization, I have been pretty satisfied with this camcorder.

This HD video looks really good on my high def screen. Bad thing is that I don't have a Blu-Ray Burner to Burn the HD video on. But Making DVD's is a snap with the software I'm using. Even Standard Def, on the DVD looks better when recorded in HD and then compressed to SD resolution.

A must is an extra battery. At best this one last 1 hour with or without the LCD. Not good when you can record 4.5 hours on the internal HD, and then another hour on a 4 GB Memory Card.

Had to cut this model by 2 points for no image stabilization, and horrible battery life.

"Don't Buy this overpriced camcorder" on by heritage10

Pros: Its looks great and has a nice view finder that works

Cons: JVC weired file format stay away! Its auto does not work that well.

Summary: Any object that moves has major pixel latency issues even in extreamly bright conditions. JVC stats that its HD, however it performs the same as my other camcorder. This camra needs a major firmware upgrade and software upgrade because it has so many issues. You will need a tripod for it because its image stablization does not work. I will never trust JVC again. They should publicaly apologize and recall this camcorder.

"s this camera needs a tripod to have reasonable pictures its not worth the money" on by Bondij

Pros: Good handling, light to carry, has viewfinder and sound is good

Cons: Optical Image Stabaliser does not work. Bundled software is very basic.

Summary: Having used this camera every day for the last month it was a pleasure to use. Arriving back from a long holiday to find the pictures shot in all of the hand held, moving vehicle and panning shots were so bad they were not worth having. JVC needs to act quickly to save its good reputation and this camera from extintion.
